Can I suggest if not mentioned before that when the essendrug faithful stand and applaud we turn in the opposite direction and put our arms and hands across our chests in defiance of this cheating mongrel club!

Or, better still, we could turn in the opposite direction and drop our dacks!

Just scroll back a few pages, there's plenty of them.

Bombers currently getting their arses handed to them.

Anyone still worried?

To be fair Geelong fielded a near full strength team and the Bombers were missing Zaharakis, Daniher, Goddard, Leuenberger and??  Not sure if there was anyone else but basically their best players were out.

Charles Barkley : I don't know much about Angola, but Angolas in trouble.

I just looked at Essendons list that played today, I then add the four names you've mentioned. They are in for a world of hurt this season. They are going to play like the Richmond of old, the 1st qtr specialists. They are going to be in the change rooms before each game high fiveing and back slapping each other, the opposition needs to simply come out and slot threw a few early goals whilst remaining physical with them, the players will look up at the score board and the mental disintegration will have begun. This can only last for so long, they are sitting ducks.

I forgot their top up players so Kelly, Stokes and Crowley will be there as well. That's a third of their starting 22 (close to their best 7) - not saying they'll win more than a handful of games but they'll create headaches for a few. I just hope we aren't one.

I get where your coming from Dr but I don't know, I just think this year there are about 14 clubs who can realistically make the 8. Games against Essendon and Carlton will be viewed as not only a guaranteed 4 points but a much needed percentage booster. I think only the Hawks/Eagles/Freo would entertain resting players against them.

Having said that we rolled Geelong in Geelong with an under strength side, how much of that was us and how much was that Geelong not coming ready to play.

How many miles in those old legs ya reckon ?

Essendon with have kids playing more qtrs than they should. They'll burnthem out before they should. They'll have their dads army getting tired also.

Rotates cap means theyre on their feet longer too. They'll lose just about every premiership quarter this year. Damn shame

Are you suggesting mass guava pasting? In addition to a 15-goal pasting? :)

Certainly understandable why many here wouldn't want to go to this game - not allowing one cent of your hard earned cash go to the drug cheats.

Although I will be going to get full use out of my MCC membership.

Hopefully we can belt them as I would love to start/ hear the "Na na na na, na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" chant.

It would be a fitting way to send the scum off after their "March to the G".

Cant believe the Druggos have invited James Tird to their drug pride march in Round 2

Actually no, I can believe it.

If the Essendon FC has officially invited James Hird to attend the match, it's time they invested in a better PR and issues management consultant. There will be a time for a reconciliation but it shouldn't happen until all the legal processes, including the CAS appeal, the Dank actions and the players v club matters are all resolved.

Does anyone else remember playing the Bombers in the NAB Cup at Docklands the year Hird took over as coach (2011?). They beat us and as Hird walked the boundary in the final quarter their supporters all did the "stand and bow" in praise of him.

It always makes me laugh to think back on that with the hindsight of knowing what destruction he would subject them to over the next few years. I hope their club is divided for decades over this, the same way we were/have been since Smith was sacked, Richmond since the late 70's/early 80's and Carlton since Elliott/salary cap sanctions. It doesn't just create poor performance on-field it destroys the fabric of a club off-field and creates a politically divided club. I think/hope we're coming out the other side now with the work of PJ and to a lesser extent Roos and if we can hand the baton to Essendon for some decades of pain that would be just great :)

Let's smash them in round 2 and destroy their fragile psyche before they've even had a chance to get the season underway.

Agree. Except that means around 2025.
