We won't agree, unless we win the game.

I'm betting the afl will grant essedons wish.

They want to play us, great.  Let's kick their butts.  From a financial viewpoint it's potentially a million dollar pay day every other year ... bring it.  It's a fantastic initiative.

PJ would be all over this ... another locked-in fixture at the MCG that we don't have to sell off to the NT.  We should be brokering deals with the Blues, Cats & Hawks as well.  The Tigers & Pies are already taken care of (Anzac eve & the QB clash)

The more home games at the MCG against the big Victorian clubs the better.  Even if it's only every 2nd year.  What we should be doing is pushing for 2 games a year against the big Victorian clubs every season ... that would assure us of a number of big home game fixtures.

Macca....you seem to forget.  We do not play these cheating prjcks as a home game.  Haven't for about a decade

What im saying is that theyve use the excuse "friday nights are for good teams" when in reality its for "teams that havelots of fans so people will watch".

Dont lie afl, just say it

C'mon  You are being naïve.  The AFL lie whenever they make an announcement.

Like they did with their "walk to the G" this year, when they embarrassed us?

It has humiliating loss scrawled all over it. Should be a tooth and nail fight to avoid this game. We have a terrible record in this sort of contest, over decades.

Maybe you are too young to remember Ted.

Maybe, faulty, it is about time we stood up and made a stand and changed all this.  Until we do we will remain irrelevant to the AFL marketing team.

In the first encounter (round 1 2017) possibly not (although the gate might be shared) but if the fixture is ongoing, it would almost certainly be our home game every 2nd year.  PJ struck a deal with the Tigers with the Anzac eve encounter where they got the home game in the first encounter and then it rotates from there.

I'm assuming this encounter will be ongoing and not a one off ... the Tigers & Blues are already playing each other in round 1 and they (Essendon) already have an match-up against Collingwood on Anzac day.

I can't see PJ agreeing to this game unless there is something in it for us.  Others can disagree but we'll find out soon enough.

We don't have to agree FD. Can't wait for it, we'll give it a shake.

Had to have a laugh about the Sunday Herald Sun's front page headline ~

"Dane Swan's shock confession -

I TOOK DRUGS"

Really?

It would have been more of a shock if he said he didn't take drugs ?

With whom??

Couple of our wins this year tell me we are on the rise. Taking on challenges and improving our record seems like a good idea to me. Why fear anyone?

A few losses say not so fast: St Kilda, Carlton Essendon....

THE SWISS COURT APPEAL HAS FAILED!

They are now, for all time, officially GUILTY and CONVICTED DRUG CHEATS.

Hand back the medal Jobe, you cheat.

Also LOL at their lawyers, they must be popping the champagne as we speak. "We have very strong grounds for appeal after the WADA verdict!" Hilarious! Talk about a gravy train to put their grandchildren through University. Thanks Tird!

They must be drowning there sorrows... No more Ess $$$$$$$$$$$$ for the boat maintenance.

This is Gil's nightmare scenario.

Not the drugs. Not the blackening of the names of the EFC and the AFL.

No. It's that now he'll have to make a decision.

Did the EFC lawyers, or Hirds, get a single thing right through this whole saga, except of course that the AFL tribunal was going to let them off, but that was a fait accompli before the hearing even started.

Jeez! That's one for the ages. I could have sworn that Peter Gordon said that "these young men have been subject to one of the gravest injustices in Australian sporting history".

That the CAS finding " contains factual errors" and "unsupported propositions of law."

Surely it was a lay down misere.

Those damn Swiss. We're the ones who are supposed to have kangaroo courts. I bet they're all NRL supporters.

No. He will set up a poll....maybe a few until he gets an answer he wants.

meanwhile, up in harbor town, cronulla are still celebrated their premiership, 3 years after cooperating with asada and taking their medecine without enriching the legal fraternity.

no joy in this

waiting for the EFC apology.... (yeah we now what they will say.... it now allows us to draw a line and move on) with a number one draft pick.
