Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I actually think fans hate this timeslot the most.

It's so early in the day, it interrupts the morning and by the time the game's over you feel like the afternoon's gone too.

I think I dislike 1.10pm starts more than 4.40pm starts.

Not me. My favorite time slot. Home by 5pm in time to cook dinner and avoid using up too many brownie points

You have my vote.

1.10 start means nothing else gets done, Effectively for me a whole day devoted to a football match of 2 hours.

1.10 means a reasonable post game victory session followed by dinner and drinks

Perfect day

And the problem with that is?  Only problem I have is I have to make up for things around the house, to keep she who must be obeyed happy.  Otherwise, I don't mind the 1:10 time slot at all

The problem is iv'a that there is more to my life than games of football.

1.10 starts are the pits IMO but each to his own.

Last Saturday I had an important engagement at 11.00 that finished at approx. 12 add in the weather was less than wonderful and we were playing the Hawks with little chance of success so it became a TV / radio game for me.

If it had been a 4pm game I would have gone.

1.10 start gives me ample reason not to start any jobs around the house. A 4.40 one means I really have no excuse to not to get something of substance done. I'm not a fan of the 4.40 kick off

I understand OD, but if you did not have the engagement, you would have gone?

Probably yes but the point is there are often things that have to be done AM Saturday and Sunday which then makes it hard to get to the start of the game.

As I said each to his own but the 1pm games are my least favourite.

I find it more difficult to go in the later timeslot, as the colder evening air means I run out of incontinence pads far more quickly.  No seriously, I value my Sunday nights, to prepare for the working week ahead.  A Sunday twilight game means I don't get home until after 8:00 pm

Suits me fine I get home have a single malt to drown my sorrows, then relax in front of the TV and try to forget Football for a few hours.

You're not waiting half the day for the game to start and you can be home well and truly before dinner

You feel like eating after MFC games?

And over the last decade it has meant we arrive home after the evening news on TV therefore avoiding being told by some sports reporter how shiit we are.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
