GAME DAY - Round 22

Featured Replies

Sunday training run for Freo on Domain Stadium.

We're probably better than a few WAFL sides

Freo kick first 5 goals and aren't out of second gear yet!

That was shocking, Jones.

Can't remember us ever being in front on free kick count at quarter time. 12-2 is a joke of an imbalance. And they wonder why attendances are down.

Ho hum.

Positive thoughts, positive thoughts .........

In the back of my mind is 186. Surely not.

No injuries so far!

PS - we should also be fresh to make our assault on the final 3 quarters!

Also good to see Viney have a real go (needs to clean up his disposal, but what's new?)

Most of the free kicks are a product of 3 things:

1. Dumb footballers playing like idiots

2. Zero talk and players getting caught

3. Players fumbling and giving away a freek kick as a means of making up for their ineptness.

Most of the free kicks have been there.

Freo do seem to be allowed to drop the ball though.

No heart, no urgency, no interest.

Will there be a soul at next week's game?

Why did we even bother with Spencer today?

We have no run, getting smacked in the ruck and the clearances. We would have been better off with more legs through the middle. And Grimes is sub is just dumb.

The coaching perplexes me.

Three Dees without a touch...

Freo do seem to be allowed to drop the ball though.

Almost as annoying as seeing Michie pull up on two chases

I ned to be negative again

This team and the game plan absolutely stinks

Roos is almost asleep in the box yarning all qurater Must have been out on the P%$S

I cannot watch this carp

In the back of my mind is 186. Surely not.

Nah, Freo are pretty poor compared to that Geelong team.

We are playing similarly to the Dees of '11.

This has 79 point loss written all over it.

It's the correct decision though.

Kicking back acres goal when we're getting hammered?

Yeah, right.

Three Dees without a touch...

That means 19 have touched the ball!

POSITIVITY!

Summary:

1st QTR in the last four weeks

6 goals to 1

5 goals to 1

8 goals to 1

7 goals to 2

Yet again game over at qtr time.

We have been killed yet again by the spare man in defence.

Great coaching Roosy. Good to see them coming out and breathing fire.

Adios I'm out of here. Think I'll wash the car.

It's the correct decision though.

No it wasn't. The rule was bought in to protect players lower legs. The Freo player jumped and kneed him in the neck, that is not lower legs. If they start that sort of interpretation then you will soon not be allowed to bend over.

Will we ever get the better of the umpiring in a game ever??

No.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
