Sorry, but not all of us. But nobody wanted to listen. I still think Roos has been a positive. But it worries me that he might be "yesterdays" man, it worries me he anointed Goodwin (does Goodwin have the same mindset and limitations of Roos?), it worries me that Goodwin was first in line for the "good stuff from Danksy". It worries me that neither Jackson or Roos were in it for the long term when appointed.

I also said at the beginning of this year that Roos had never proved himself to be able to coach offense. He still hasn't and that worries me.

But I might be needlessly worried.

Had a reply email from Peter Jackson today. It was quite a long response. He preached patience and stressed that we have already turned over 22 players and more changes are needed. He also spoke about it being 'a long journey' and that he got frustrated when players played like they did yesterday too. He also pointed out how young our list is and that the players do need to become more consistent.

I am not saying I agree with him but at least it shows that he cares about this club. I admire his passion.

Oh, and while I'm at it Roos said "the worse it got the more interested I got". Why? Did the money go up?

We have improved, he has improved the club, but he and the team seem to keep hitting these brick walls.

Last year we had a good (by our standards) first half and terrible second half, this year appears to be going the exact same way. It's like every time we have a negative result we continue to spiral down. We were on such a high after beating Geelong in Geelong (seeing the team now I have no idea how that happened), but after getting thrashed in the final quarter against WC we have played with zero flare, zero effort, and zero ability. FCS why is playing with effort still not the minimum expectation?

There is also the concern about the game plan. Bomb long, direct, but to no one in position. If bombing long is going to be the plan then make sure the forward isn't outnumbered, or kick it to space away from opposition players for him to run onto. Ever since the pies game we have been kicking long and having it marked by a free opposition player, Roos said that day the players weren't working to the instructions of the coach, but why is it still happening?

I will add something that Roos has no control over. Kicking for goal: 21.40 we have kicked in the last 3 weeks. 34% effective scoring. That is simply acceptable. I say every behind that players kick from now on is $50 the player pays to charity or back to the club. They are professional sportsmen who are not performing as paid to do.

Hawthorn went from four wins to premiers in four years OD. We just need to draft well.

I don't really like our game plan or team selections, but Roos has done a very good job in starting to re-building our list. This is the key to long-term success.

Well we are two years in FT and bugger all change 2016 and 7 are going to need to be rippers.

Roos just needs to take a think about what he's trying to achieve. We've improved (because we set the bar so low) But is this game plan worth persisting with? He's more than halfway through his tenure and are we still trying to execute his vision that sees us put up the results like the St.Kilda game or is it time to see past the horizon? Are Roos and Goodwin on the same page philosophically? The way Roos still speaks about the players it's hard to see how 2016 will be much different.

I'm excited about the regeneration of our list but not if the players can't talk or kick to one another after a preseason (or two).

They would make no difference.

The coaches do not run out on game day.

If they make no difference gameday then why are we paying them more than players. What player gets $1.5m? If Roos has no influence on gameday then why does he get more than any player? In my view for that money the buck stops with him!

It would be really good if the club decided to hold an extraordinary members meeting at this point of the season. I'm guessing there would be a huge turnout with some very lively discussion.

But...sadly these meetings are always held in the off season when dust is settled and no one gives a toss or yelp.

After the St Kilda dross, most members have had a gutful and the club goes into hiding.

Roos has had us for nearly two years and we are still a bottom 4 team....win one , lose the next six, lose when we think we have a chance, and sneak up on teams that are having a bad day, like geelong, Bulldogs, Richmond etc...

The players aren't meant to run out without a clue, it's a full time, professional [censored] sport. The longer this goes on the players V Coaches aspect becomes ridiculous, as I pointed out after our Round 11 loss.

We can bang on about coaches and inept game plans as much as we like, but this current crop, collectively, still don't have the skills required to be even moderately successful at AFL level. I cant help after watching Paul yesterday we have Malcolm Blight mark 2 on our hands... he did not seem to have any real hurt or care factor after the loss....his plums are not on the line. Just seems like he is going through the motions. Apart from Kent and Salem we had our best team out there yesterday.

Great that he responded. I believe he is a top administrator and has been great for the club, but he doesn't play though maybe he could do better than a few on the list.

I really don't see how everyone can jump on roos how many games this year have we been in it with a possibility to win only to be let down by the players on the field. This is a vast improvement from where we were a few years ago where we were getting flogged by 60-100 points regularly.

Yesterday we had two forwards no more than 30meters out who missed easy shots that may have changed our players outlook, but they stuffed it. We had other players who scrubbed kicks into the path of the saints who made us pay. We were lucky we were not beaten by more because of the poor skills of the players turning the ball over, over and over again.

The tackle count showed who was interested and who was not. I think the Melbourne players went out there thinking they had this one, after all we should have won it last time. In the end they did not chase, did not tackle did not kick straight, did not turn up. I blame the 22 players on the ground not the coach.

The only reason (and I mean only) I took the journey from the Mornington Peninsula on a bleak, cold and wet Sunday afternoon, at the ridiculous television inspired time of 3.20 pm, was to watch no.1 in action. But the game-plan and the dills who implement it cruelled him.

We had 77 more handballs than the opposition. We defend when we should attack, we attack when we should defend and we handball when we should kick. Put simply, our players have no idea what to do with the ball when they get it. Nearly two years in isn't that Roos' fault ? They also pick and choose from quarter to quarter how intense they'll be.

I appreciate we're a stoppage team, which requires numbers around the footy, but why does Roos allow us to lose all of our forward structure when the ball is in the opposition's forward half ? Hogan, the poor ba®stard, spends as much time on a half-back flank as he does in the forward-line. I appreciate that's the "modern" way, but can't we try and occasionally hold the semblance of a forward-line ? We start our attacks from so far back.

And when he is one out, or wants the ball kicked in long and quickly it invariably never happens. Or it happens too late as the bail out kick and he's already swamped.

The Dogs may not have our defensive attributes, but at least they kick goals, play with some flair and take the game on. I'm sure their defensive elements will improve as they continue to hone their game-plan. They're also winning.

This is what I cannot for the life of me work out - we have listed 122 different players since 2007. How many of them, not including Daniher's boys who retired naturally, have been solid contributors after coming to this club.. the number is shockingly, dismally low.

You mean the 18 players on the ground do not have to accept responsibility for the St Kilda game loss, it was after all Roo's fault for not running out there and telling them?

Oxley taking 14 marks, who kicked it to him? what our players could not see him, could not count. if he was spare then we would have had a spare and we could have potentially gone around him, could have tried passing to advantage, but we didn't we bombed it directly too him more often than not.

We have also benefited from having a loose man either on the ball or in defence as well, that by itself does not loose you games, poor tackling, kicking, brain fades and missing simple goals does, all of which were done by the players on the field.

We have too many players who stop once they take a mark or get a free, you will often see players leading up to them 20-40 meters away but do not take a chance or take the first option, they are too busy looking for a safe option and in doing so loose their chance to move the ball on quickly so we kick it along the boundary line which often either results in an opposition mark or an out of bounds. When we moved it quickly in the last few weeks we looked a lot better, unfortunately we play safe too often, then do stupid things like kicking it backwards or across to the middle where it either get intercepted or delivered straight to the opposition.

I just cannot accept all the Roos criticism.

You can't just fluke a premiership. His Sydney team were famous for their consistency, their adherence to the game plan, their "buy in" to their coach's message and their intensity out on the field. The bloke is a fantastic leader and he knows how to coach.

I also cannot accept the comments from those who suggest he is just a mercenary and doesn't really care about the club. What are they basing this on - his press conferences? Roos is a master at handling the press. He doesn't want to inflame the situation by getting angry and singling out players in public. He is too smart for this. He would do it all behind closed doors and out of the public eye. If you would prefer a coach that rants and raves and brings unwanted publicity then go hire a hothead - for me, I would take Roos' ability to stay measured and level-headed in a press conference every day of the week.

Now that's not to say there haven't been tactical errors. The loose man against Collingwood, the last 41 seconds against St Kilda, overuse of the footy in our defensive half of the ground yesterday...I can accept that there have been tactical errors.

However, as I said after the Essendon game, the reason for our woeful performances is the mental fragility of our players and our overall lack of class. In other words, it's the players. We cannot consistently bring our intensity week-to-week. When we bring it, and match the opposition in the contest and tackles, we can compete with most teams from about 6th down to 18th. We might and probably will lose out on class but if one of those teams is slightly off, like Richmond, Geelong and the Dogs were, we can snatch an upset.

However, when we don't bring it, given our skill/class levels are terribly low, we get shown up by even lowly teams like Essendon and St Kilda. Hawthorn can be off their intensity and still win out on the back of their class. When you are a team devoid of class like us, your attitude and intensity must be 100% to be able to compete.

People criticise our defensive game plan but what difference would an attacking one make. Based on the current skill level of the team, not much at all. We still have chances to score but we kick inaccurately (21.40 the last three weeks). We butcher the inside 50m kick. We start a chain of possession from half back and turn it over. All of this affects our ability to score and it all comes down to skill, not the game plan. Even when we are on top in games, our lack of class means we can't convert the dominance on the scoreboard.

Who currently gives us drive and precision kicking off half back? I can only think of Salem and he's out injured. Who gives us sheer pace and run and carry through the middle? Who nails targets with inside 50 kicks? Who other than a first-year player is a viable marking option inside 50? This is why we struggle to score.

We need players that are both desperate and aggressive and have the requisite level of skill. We simply don't have enough. And we will continue to be a poor footy team until we get them (and the young talent that we have who do display these attributes fully develop).
