Does anyone remember the 2004 movie "The Day after Tomorrow"?

It's one of the greatest films ever made about extreme weather conditions and features a combination of killer tornados, extreme hurricanes, incredible tidal waves, destructive floods and the commencement of a new ice age which just about sums up the forecasts for this afternoon's game and I must add ... in conditions such as those predicted ... anything can happen in a game of footy ... and it probably will

Our calculations were wrong, its two days before the day after tomorrow.

I'm heading up to the local RSL with the missus for out first outing since new baby, go dees.

C'mon Dees smash these [censored]. I want to see us put the foot to their throats, it's payback time.

I couldn't handle losing today, very nervous. We better win!

We will win. No problems. They thought St. Kilda was their worst nightmare! Hird will be unemployable after we rout them today!

Go Dees!

I'm stuck in West Papua thanks to that shitty volcano in East Java.

Thankfully, Australia Plus is telecasting the game. I'll watch it the game on a 32" screen all in low definition analogue.

What a shame the weather is going to potentially even the contest up. I'm looking for a big win.

Not sure if the weather is going to be as bad as people think... Meteorologists have a tendency to over play these things. On the game, like most weeks im not going in too confident, essendon do have a young-inexperienced side in, but we aren't full of experience either. Just depends how we start, we know essendon will come at us early after the week they've had, we just need to be up from the first bounce. Think we will win but won't be a walk in the park.

West Papua get better quality than we get from Channel Seven.

That should be good Josh. Just make sure the missus looks after the kid so you can drink booze and watch the footy without interruption. Ideally she'll also keep getting the drinks.

I am genuinely nervous about today. Essendon, along with North, are the two teams I hate the most.

I don't know how I would cope with a loss of any sort.

I'm used to HD fox footy but will take anything in this situation.

First world problems.

I'll have ice cold froffies at hand so I'll manage.

Just about to put a ton on the Dees. I reckon I've used up my bad luck by agreeing to go to the game with Moonshadow.

gunna be freezing bbo, so make sure moonie keeps his hands in his own pockets :o

Just finished work and it's not that cold. James hird must've put a stop to the bad weather with his godly powers.

I'm usually fairly confident at this time of day. I reckon our backs are better than most forward lines in the comp. Our forwards are adequate and today our mids should be better than the opposition. A hard fought 22 point win.

All my confidence will, of course, evaporate the moment the teams run onto the ground this afternoon.

While I'm nervous, I just think we'll have too many hard bodies in the midfield and down back and we'll be too quick for them in the forward line.

As long as he takes them out to buy a beer.

On a day like to day it might be hot chocolate (mixed with a touch of rum, of course)

I've decided not to be nervous.

I'm now confident. We are a different team, if we are to improve we need to get used to being favourites and embrace it. Easy win coming up and hird to get the sack on Tuesday.

If we aren't hungry enough to win a gimme like this after 10 years of shite then I give up

This time next week, I will be in West Papua but in a slightly remote area with no access to Internet. So confident am I however about the Dees that I am tipping them to beat Brissie and the Saints in my absence. What is the weather like there McQueen? Edited by CBDees

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
