Round 15 - Non MFC Games

Looks like Port are finding some form.

Also Wines - holy [censored] what a quarter so far.

13 touches, 4 clearances (3 CC), 4 inside 50s.

Ridiculous.

For a preview of Saturday afternoon's slogfest, tune into Seven tonight. Going to need to contest the hell of that ball and run like hell if we want to get the 4 points.

The entire Seven commentary team give me the shits.

Bruce and his rhetorical questions.

BT and his, frankly, bizarre comments.

Richo can't say anything controversial to save himself.

Watson with his incapacity to be objective.

Lingy and his capacity to state the bleeding obvious.

Darcy, like a politician, says a lot but doesn't say anything.

Bruce Mc Aveney gives you the [censored], doesn't he?

He is ssspecial!! Varcoe's brilliant tap back from the boundary for a goal hardly got a mention from anyone and someone had to tell Bruce who it was but can you imagine the dripping accolades if it had been Cyril!

Bloody Taylor Adams. Animal. Kneed ?Westhoff several times in the face whilst on the ground.

We will find out just how sacrosanct the MRP finds the head I guess.

Gutless, mongrel act

Gutless, mongrel act

low impact , in play, unintentional, accidental, $ 300 fine ( I'll be amazed if the finding is much different )

That's a really, really low dog act from Adams IMO.

Otherwise, ripping game. Not sure how to read it - Port's been awful the last month so it's a bit worrying for Collingwood to drop this game. They're now 8-6 and sliding, with West Coast next week. Could be 8-7 heading into a game at Etihad against the Dogs, which could then mean 8-8 when they face us...

We will find out this week at the MRP whether they regard the head as sacrosanct are if they are as corrupt as they sometimes appear.

Taylor Adams [allegedly] DELIBERATELY kneed an opponent - I think Westhoff - in the face (part of HEAD) several times.

Should be 4 or 5 weeks but because he didn't kill or concussion him I guess they will say Ko case to answer of some piddling (for them) fine

They have a choice : mark their ground and stamp this thuggery out, now, or say it it ok ,or not too bad, and it will continue until there is a serious injury.

Dog of an act with potential for extremely serious injury.

He kneed him on the temporal bone, the most fragile and vulnerable part of the skull. It doesn't take much to cause a fracture and bleeding internally. It's the area that cricketers helmets are designed to most protect. That sort of action on the football field is totally unacceptable regardless of the consequences

Yep, $100 fine.

Some amazing comments tonight. Loved the one about how Buckley is always so calm and has his emotions so under control in the coaches box, then in the next Q bucks smashes the phone into the desk, not for the first time.

...and for Bruce the field seems to be full of barometers.

BT was also in love with the "large particles... of liquid."

Thankfully it wasn't mentioned in the same sentence as "The Package."

...and what was that free kick for...out on the full BT. Watch the game idiot.

Idiot 2, Richo...they've got a couple of key players off the ground at the moment BT, Wines and Wingard. Little does he realise is that Wingard is taking a free kick for out on the full.

But only because the package wasn't playing

Heard it so many times last week

Awful

You're not wrong Mono.

Was disgusted with what I saw tonight. Adams dropped the knee on Westhoff's face at least 4 times, the last with some force.

He should go straight to the tribunal, get a week for each attempt and 2 or 3 for the last attempt, 5 or 6 weeks all up. Sure it sounds harsh, but this sort of BS has no place in our game and he must be made an example of.

Lazy game for Wines.

34 disposals, 9 clearances, 10 tackles, 5 i50.
:(

Mmm better swap him for Toumpas in my Supercoach team!

Luke Ball is on the MRP committee.

Adams will get a $200 fine

Any chance the media will finaly jump off the Collingwood bandwagon now? they havent won for a month. they look promising for the future but will have no impact on the flag race this year

hope we smash em in a few weeks. should have salem and Kent back by then

You don't like Bruce, do you?

He drives us crazy, doesn't he?

He'd be better off retiring, wouldn't he?

Can't stop using 'off a step', can he?

Gee he's a gooood commentator, isn't he?

Doesn't mind players 'caressing the ball', does he?

Make you sick of listening to the footy, couldn't it?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
