Water tight or not what would PJ and company do if he came to them tomorrow and said " I have been offered the Adelaide job and I would like to be released"

Would be say No you have a contract and force him to stay at the MFC when his heart clearly wanted go back to SA.

I would have him out so fast his nose would bleed.

Yes but I bet big penalties would be involved

I would think we will need to hear something from Goodwin in next few days or there may be substance in talk.

I strongly feel he will come out shortly and confirm his Melbourne commitment

Posted

Nah he wants to gain experience and improve/ prove himself before heading home as the saviour one day . Won't happen now and if it does we made the wrong call to appoint him and will be better off without .

If Adelaide use recent tragedy to lure Goodwin back or even call him. I'd be [censored] off.. Even if it seems poor taste.

You had your chance Crows and you fluffed it.

Theyd be better off trying roosy.

After coaching this club his future coaching prospects will be zero.

After coaching this club his future coaching prospects will be zero.

After we beat Geelong he was the messiah again, after losing to the Bombers he's back to being a very naught boy.....

Not a bad point...who was the last MFC Senior coach to get the top job at another club after their time at the Dees?

John Northey went on to coach Richmond and then Brisbane Bears/Lions.

Forgive me for this, but what's so good about Goodwin anyway?

Yes, we've put 9 months of development in to him and it would set us back a little if he left, but what has he done to date to suggest he is worthy of two years of hand holding plus a three year senior coach's contract?

Particularly by way of comparison to Luke Beveridge who was available at the same time, has a much better coaching pedigree and has been super impressive to date.

Got some Melbourne links too, does Luke. I wish we'd gone after Luke too, but I'll reserve judgement on Goody.

Goodwin came super highly recommend by bomber Thompson, apparently the bombers players loved him, brilliant mind/match day coach and commands respect

I hope he has some inventiveness like Clarkson and Beveridge. The really top coaches are always the one's that push the envelope with new tactics and game plans.

If worst comes to worst we could always go for Andy Goodwin, former Dee and now Wandin plumber! One tough unit he is/was!

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Join us LIVE on Monday night at 8:30pm—note that this special time is just for this week due to prior commitments. We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. I apologize for skipping our annual season review show at the end of last season. After a disapponting season filled with off-field antics and a heated trade week, I needed a break. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
