6 - Jack VIney - absolutely smashed Joel Selwood to pieces. Smashed I say.

5 - Max Gawn - best game by an MFC ruckman since Jeff Whites last great game

4 - Bernie Vince - he may make the AA team, was a dominant performance again. Did it all.

3 - Nathan Jones - a typical Jones performance, total warhorse.

2 - Lynden Dunn - the perfect week for a return to form, dominant down back

1 - Angus Brayshaw - everything he touches turns to gold, he was so important

Apologies to all 16 other players in the 22

Some really stiff players this week, particularly Garlett who looked really dangerous, but I thought our best 6 were clear. Had a really hard time ordering them though.

Not a single passenger this week. Every player did their job.

Gods, I can't stop grinning. Watching the replay and swallowing all the post match media simultaneously.

Everyone played a role today but surely Vince gets top votes.

He was outstanding. 38 touches and 11 clearances. Amazing!

Everyone was great. The 2 ruck thing was wonderful with Spencer. So many great contributions, Cross, Watts, Garlett, ANB etc.

As good as Bernie was, I don't think we've seen a more influential game from a Dee ruckman since Jimmy in his prime.

And Gawny even hurt a few in the tackles.

Honourable mentions to Matt Jones (best game he's played), Jeffy, Jack Watts and our two SA teens.

Unbelievable.

Geez, nominations were tough this week, for all the right reasons. Just an outstanding team effort, and many potential nominees miss out because 22 doesn't divide very easily into six.

6. Bernie Vince - Outstanding all day. Oozes class, and you can see that he loves playing for the Dees.

5. Max Gawn - Sensational four quarters, both in the middle, around the ground and as a forward target. Who would have thunk it?

4. Jack Viney - Manic at the ball and man. Ripped Sellwood apart!

3. Nathan Jones - Another top game from the Skipper. Tough as nails. Willed himself to every contest, and won most of them.

2. Gus Brayshaw - Forget about the NAB Rising Star ... he has arrived already!

1. Lynden Dunn - Back to his best, which is very good. Comfortably overcame Hawkins' size and strength advantages, and rebounded to advantage all day.

Well done boys .... you've done yourselves proud!!

I was hoping for more entries after that big, big, win but the quality was there. Thank you.

Tom Mac's big lead is under attack and Jesse Hogan's week off saw him drop from second to fourth. I sense an exciting finish for once ... here is the progressive situation as we speak ...

Of the first 14 in this leaderboard, I count 8 that either weren't at the club or were too young to make be making much of an impact ('pre-breakout') in season 2014.. that's just quality recruiting, drafting and development that has bumped us up another step this year. Do it again for the third time in 2016 please Roosy

First time in a long time i can recall having trouble "fitting" players in

6. Dunny - Most epic i've seen on one of the league's best forwards away from home. Ran off as well for 15 rebounds! Is that a record for the MFC of some sort i wonder? Also had majority of i50s & time in forward half to contend with...The ROCK!

5. Mr. Vince - Lowers his eyes more often and we have our own Pendles with grunt! Needs to stop Moloneying the ball so often!

4. Big Max - first half was stellar!

3. Gus - absolute class and great positioning/tackling and 2nd efforts all day

2. Viney - The Mauler at his best.

1. H - For providing the run and taking the game on early (showing the way to turn def into attack ...quickly!) and getting to so many contests both in defence and up the field

Apologies to Jones boy, Garlett, Howe (2 clutch goals, one at end of 3rd and the other beginning of 4th!), ANB for an amazing 2nd up game, Tyson (a bit one paced but some great body positioning around stoppages/handballs), Watts (reading the play/field kicking and being up and about....still needs to comitt harder at times IMO), Dawes & M Jones (great work on and off Enright!)

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
