Pretty awful defensive moment from the Hawks earlier (yes I know, glass houses...), allowing an easy goal-square goal to Adelaide that the Hawks defenders had ample opportunity to kill over the line, but didn't.

Had a good chuckle when I realised it was Frawley lying on his a$$ on the ground, responsible for the mess.

Otherwise, great game tonight, a real shootout!

Gives the Hawks fans a taste of what it's like to be a dees supporter week in week out.

Playing in Adelaide would be very similar to playing in Geelong in that the away team has to put up with the feral crowd.

Frawley blatantly holding the man there, would've been hilarious if the umpires weren't in the Hawks pocket and actually paid the free kick to Adelaide right in front of goal.

I tipped them, don't understand why the Tigers are such favourites. In form, sure, but still ahead of themselves.

They beat Fremantle, granted, but look who came close to also beating the Dockers last week...

Freo have been flat after jumping the competition early. Credit where it's due they went over with a plan and executed it.....I just can't bring myself to rate them. I've taken that game aswell as North/Giants each way in my multis. Even with the Giants injuries this is the kind of game North will drop. The two most unpredictable teams in recents times. (Port coming in 3rd)

I definitely rate Freo, but my dad was spot on the money when he told me (back in round 4) they'd peaked far too early. They'll go through a real mid-season slog now, I reckon.

Must say I like this only 6 games a week thing.

If only we could make them all on a Saturday afternoon at 2:10pm and have them played throughout Melbourne in the surrounding suburbs, Collingwood, South Melbourne, Fitzroy etc. That's be a nice competition!

Sorry, I meant "I can't rate Richmond" even after that win. Hence I've taken the Tigers/eagles game each way.

Freo are very good, my only concern would be long jeopardy, hawthorn and Sydney seem to be blooding youngsters and.....we all know what happened at the saints. But this year they are the real deal and looking good for a top two finish.

Gee whiz, I'm sick to death of this team winning.

They should start show replays of their matches from 1925 - 1960, bring them down a few pegs!

Edit: Change 70 to 60.

As long as we don't start seeing replays of the failed merger.

Nope, just our clashes from 54 - 60!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
