poor jeremy howe. normally he has no challenges...this year, if crownbet wanna pay out on something, pay out on nic nat. that was something special!

Howe's market value is slipping. He didn't take a speccie this week.

Nik Nat gets 10/10 for style points but gets a technical deduction for losing the ball when hitting the ground. Howe usually hangs on to the ball after landing.

So glad we took Watts over Naitanui!

NicNat: 17 disp, 2 marks, 2 goals. In a team that's second on the ladder. Meh.....

Boring season unfolding.

Only 3 can win it.....Freo, Hawthorn or Swans....

Having watched the Eagles game tonight, I'm not so sure.

The Cats aren't contenders, but they are no mugs. They've dished it up to a few sides. The Eagles had 40 scoring shots to 14. It was an annihilation. And that is being 6 or 7 players short of their best side.

They're not without a real chance.

West Coast are very much a confidence team. Playing at home this year they are going to be hard to beat with most teams struggling to compete with them. I would question though when they are on the road or come up against a well drilled team like Sydney, Freo, Hawthorn or a fast team like the Dogs. To me their midfield is their weakest link and where they lack depth. Still expect them to finish top 4 or close to it.

Your right West Coast dominated as they won the stoppages and worked hard to maintain their press. The Cats really struggled to get the ball into their half.

Maybe....it would depend on which end of the draw they fall into, especially if they get two home finals.

Cats have lost their invincibility.

Cant remember him doing any much at all on Saturday let alone a speccie

True but he has got a lot of mileage in his career from just taking only speccies.

Just proves stats mean nothing

One of them contests hard, lays big tackles, gets the ball moving forward at stoppages, gives his teammates first use, creates space at the contest and uses his speed to advantage

The other is Jack Watts

Cat's game very interesting; the old stagers Johnson, Enright, Mackie in the bests.

Prize recruits injured and hardly sighted.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
