AFL - Round 4 (non MFC Games)

It looks like playing Melbourne is a recipe for tired legs.

If only we could play the team we play each week the week after we play them. We'd win every week.

Surely a Mitch Clark retirement act will be made mid week??

Stick that dark age football up your ass Walsh ya [censored]

You? Perish the thought, SWYL!

I put my hand up when it is deserved.

I still worry about Footscray long term

Geez and I thought the dogs would struggle this year after loosing so much experience just goes to show if you get some draft picks right things can turn, stringer and bontempelli are stars, not sure if they can play at this pace all year surely they will get tired they are great to watch though

Despite having played all their games in Victoria and three straight at Simonds Stadium, Geelong are 1-3 and looking a shadow their former selves.

Mitch backed the wrong horse.

what a pity both of the thug scott twins couldn't have lost today

what a pity both of the thug scott twins couldn't have lost today

That is exactly what i was thinking

No time for Nought either

I can reveal I had a massive $10 on them.....just paid for dinner.

The boy had his quiet 20 on the Dees Friday night....$4.30 @ 1-39 bracket.

Shits me.

The Doggies have seemingly rebuilt in what three or four years? A bit of help from father son but some good old fashioned first round draft picking without playing games plus off loading some experience players voluntarily and otherwise. And throw on losing a captain, coach, football manager preseason!! Little short of amazing so far this season.

What an amazing season so far

hope Mitch is enjoying Geelong LOL

Nobody likes Scott! Big rumours Watch this space> They are not playing for him

wow some performance by the dogs tonight. They just panced Adelaide.

Cannot believe GWS are sitting 2nd.

Richmond back to 9th as usual. We drop to 12 and essenturd drop out of the 8.

I did not realise the pies are 3-1

Pies to go 4-1 then 4-2.

Stringer looks a beast. Not overly tall, but great strength, good hands and reads the play very well. Dogs have picked a good one there. Not to mention Bonti.

wow freo are a scary side. Thankgod its on our ground next week and not the wide open spaces of perth. Keeping sydney to only 1 goal.

Well im assuming Port will hold on so it will be nice to be on the same wins as the hawks.

Do you mean the 160 long, 141 wide MCG, or the longer 175 but narrower 122 Patterson's ?

Loved that Geelog lost. Doggies looking like the real deal

61 years since the Dogs v Dees GF :-) Ah...one can but dream

Always thought Stringer could turn out to be the pick of his draft year. He's got some big competition in Wines and McRae but he is also a very good mid and hasn't been used much there yet.

Many clubs baulked at him because of his serious injury....

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
