David King was just on SEN talking about the best set shots at goal this year (minimum 20). Hogan is the fourth most accurate at 68%. In comparison Jack Riewoldt at 52%.

Posters have commented on his stagnated run up. If he keeps nailing them, he could kick on his head for all I care.

He's kicked a few from the boundary but I think part of the reason he is so accurate is because he doesn't lead to the pocket too much so a lot of shots on goal are from not too difficult angles which is crucial.

He's obviously done a lot of work to correct his action. When he first arrived at the club his run up for a set shot looked like me walking home from the local pub after 20 beers.

You live in a hospital?

Yep, and this was a big part of last week's win and our accurate 18.5 scoreline - our inside50's were deep and central, which meant most of our set shots were relatively easy.

Except for Garlett, where the more difficult the kick the more accurate he is!

That's funny given Hogan didn't play...

Yeah, that's it. I cannot stand it when big forwards lead to a pocket in lieu of the Most Dangerous Spot on the ground.

"There's people there!" they cry. Yeah, there are. There is a reason why they're there...

He's been deadly accurate.

Whilst this isn't a knock on him, the only thing I can say I've seen that he doesn't possess is distance in his set shot kicking.

He doesn't seem to have a huge amount of penetration from 45 + when kicking for goal.

As for everything else. He's almost perfect.

Yep I am happy to accept Jesse as he is. There is no perfect model and everyone has their individual differences. What works for one does not work for another. Jesse has definitely worked on his kicking yet it still has some kinks but it seems to work. Peter Hudson had an unconventional action but was deadly accurate.

He doesn't try to overkick them. That's his secret. That last goal against Richmond in the pocket was a perfect example. Not an easy angle, but made it look easy.

Would love to see Jesse dish out a super game by out-marking Hurley and kicking a bag.

6 goals today??

I predicted he'd kick 8. Going to downgrade that due to poor weather. It's going to bucket down and make for a messy game of poor skills and low scores. He'll kick 7.

Probably not the weather conditions for a big forward to kick a bag

But it is Jesse Hogan so anythings possible

If he can monster one of the best CHB in the game in Alex Rance in the wet then surely he can do the same to Hurley??

I can't remember who it was but one of the commentators on tele did a mid-year AA team and it had Hurley in it. Might've been Alistair Lynch..

Personally I think Hurley is overrated and has escaped criticism over the years.

Jonathon Brown was pumping up Hogan again saying that the only player to give Rance a hiding was Jesse

Something tells me Browny likes him.. Feel free to come down and work with him Browndog!

I put $5 @ $16 for Dawes to kick our first today!

I'd be wanting those odds for him to kick one for the game.

I'm sure I recall hearing Jon Brown had been in touch with Jesse and offered his help whenever it is needed.

He would want to get a few goals sooner or later mate or it might be back to Casey for him!

Roos will not send him to Casey.

Not if the bad weather is as predicted. 6 goals in that case would be remarkable.

Getting paid a lot of money for not much return.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
