Didn't even think about the hoodoo until I was leaving the ground. I'm really happy about this win for quit a few reasons. Hoping it provides a solid springboard into next season.

No doubt it's embarrassing, but it doesn't help when we're playing against a team nobody gives a rats about.

And actually the noise from the crowd and the atmosphere was brilliant

I was particularly fond of the deadly silence every time GWS kicked a goal, or the booing. It was a nice touch.

We also created a new one for the lowest crowd at Etihad, but that one is on us, not the players

I'm kind of thrilled with this record. It's the fans telling the AFL in no uncertain terms what they think of being given such a rubbish time against a rubbish team at the wrong stadium. If they want us to turn up they can let us play our home games at our home ground at a decent time. Playing the Spice Girls less would help as well.

Last round Thursday nite game next year . We wont make the finals who cares

Most important records to break next year:

1. Winning 2 games in a row.

Until we break this embarrassing record we will never go anywhere

2. Beating North Melbourne

Because I hate their guts

Yep - there was a moment when a GWS player (do they have names?) kicked a goal from nowhere, and all that could be heard was the sound of crickets, and the weak groan of the gears in Derwayne's brain trying to work out what had happened. It was eerie seeing GWS players tussling each others hair with no crowd noise.

We also sounded very vocal on TV.

After today, if we win round 1 in 2016 I'm calling it back-to-back and ticking off no. 1.

I worked out why we never got the points there up until today.

It thought it was to do with the wings and the size of the ground originally but now I know it is because we have been a bunch of weak spirited ,useless retardos for the past 10 years.

And GWS tanked.

Would Like this several times if I could Jaded

That was also our first win the final round of a season since the Kreuzer Cup in 2007.

Was that at Doglands? Was that the last win there? We're any of our current list playing in our last win at Doglands?

Nope. It was at the 'G and Travis Johnstone ran around by himself for 46 or 47 possessions.

Norf in Round 1, please!

MCG, too (though nothing to fear at Colonial any more)

Let's not get too silly

No doubt it's embarrassing, but it doesn't help when we're playing against a team nobody gives a rats about.

In a timeslot nobody gives a rats about (1.10pm sucks at the best of times), and on Father's Day.

I'm consigned to us being given more Etihad home games given Carlton wants to move more home games from Etihad to the G (and hey, why not right, they're Carlton so they get what they want), but hopefully the AFL will stop and consider whether there's any point.

Was that at Doglands? Was that the last win there? We're any of our current list playing in our last win at Doglands?

I think just Jones and Dunn.

I wish they'd break the annoying record of losing whenever I tip them and winning whenever I tip against them.

They cost me $200 today because the pricks underneath me had nothing to lose and went the Dees.

We all know our embarrassing record against the Shinboners over the last decade but the boot used to be on the other foot . When they knocked us off on the G in 1969 , it was their first win there since 1952 !

First win in September since 8 September 2006.

That's the only thing I love about playing the expansion sides. The small crowd is amplified because everyone's on the same side

I'm not counting a Round 1 win as 2 in a row. It needs to be within the same season. Let's not get selective and desperate. We all know consistent foitball over a season is key.

It should also be noted that this year we won both the first and last games of the year

i haven't researched it but i suspect it's quite a few years since we have done that

Have we ever beaten a team by 39 and then lost to them by 98 in the same year?

In 1996, we lost to Collingwood by 94 points in Round 2, and then 8 weeks later in Round 10 we beat them by 38.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
