Could we add "beat a team coached by a Whinge Twin"?

On the original list winning at Skilled wasn't mentioned, but I think this really should count as knocking off two hoodoos. That was just awesome.

About half way down there is an entry "Win in Geelong".

Beat St Kilda at Etihad a week after beating the Pies on QB and that is four of the above...

Some are more meaningful than others though.

Beating Geelong down at Mordor would be huge, and of course beating Hawthorn, but Geelong are on a precipice - I would love to push them over...

Did we push them over?

Probably not. But we kicked them in the nuts in front of people that like them - so that'll have to do...

Geez that list would be so much more impressive if we had beaten St Kilda last week. Would have wiped off the Saints and Etihad like we wiped off Geelong in Geelong today.

and back to back wins too... would have been nice.

Guess we will just have to smash Meth Coke up in Darwin in 2 weeks.

lol here is one for the good record list:

"Although the result was a shock, the omens were bad for the Cats leading into the game. Melbourne has not lost when a player on the opposing team is recording his 300th game – having defeated teams including Leigh Matthews, Luke Power and Paul Salmon. The Cats have not won any of their three games when a player has celebrated 300 games."

Beating the other one would feel just as good.

Round 19 August 9th at the G

I thought a win at The Cattery would be one of the last ticks we marked off this long list

To lead at every change...What a dream!!

Smashing teams is a fair wish for all demon fans, but happy to settle for playing footy like we did against the Cats. Keep doing what we did on Sunday and wins will come. However, with our developing team there will be ups and downs, Seeing the group of talented young kids come through is going to be exciting and a reward for the disappointment of the last 10 years.

One record i would like to see broken/set is when we really bury a team, like 50+ points. When was the last time that happened??

we beat GWS by 78 in r13, 2012 but if that doesnt count its

dockers by 89 points, R13, 2011

Oh yeah right, god it seems so much longer than that....

How long since we actually won two (or for that matter three) on the trot??

Slowly but surely :P

  • 3 weeks later...

Having won in Round 1 this year, we broke a decade-long record of having not won in the first week of the season.

What other records are in dire need of being broken?

I'm just wondering the last time we won a game when we were favourites. Is that another embarrassing record that needs to be broken?

Granted we wouldn't be favourites too often, but anyone know when was the last time?

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
