I just phoned the club (and tweeted) expressing my disappointment. They assured me that my feedback will be passed on and that it will be looked into. The cynics might say that that is as far as it will get, and they may be right if I'm the only one to contact them...so, I suggest that if you feel strongly enough about the fact that this is not a good look for the club, please do the same.

I would say, we could be bigger than to worry what people may say, if we donated our scarves to homeless people to keep them warm.

... surely a decent gesture of giving & being supportive to those who are down, is worth all the barbs anyone could throw.

Sorry to disagree with most of you but surely this is a mountain out of a mole hill.

A small aside I have the last umpteen scarves hanging in a wardrobe.

my wife calls it the "closet of despair"

I get a laugh out of it every time she says it

is that how you've survive 'od', all this time... do you stick your head in there of a Sunday night & scream your heart out for 20 seconds during the footy season?

Fantastic work Tough! I'd like to try and match that but at my school they'd only strangle each other and cause me paperwork. Well done to you!!!

Do it BBO, I am just picturing you now in the school yard as they are strangling each other you quietly saying to them, "stop, please don't do that someone will get hurt, how about you think of the children".

When I first looked at this thread a few days back in legitimately thought it was going to be about supporters binning their scarves after the loss to Essendon at Docklands last Friday haha

At first glance I thought Jones had suddenly sprouted a mohawk.

Indeed. We have entered the fantasy realm of Nathan Jones - holding the premiership cup while sporting a lustrous head of hair.

Last year the club website advertised if anyone wanted scarves to apply. I did and got a few boxes of them. Took them up the country and dropped in to several country schools asking if they'd like a few. I figured that it might be a good way to 'convert' a few kids to support the Dees. In every case the schools were very grateful and one school was going to sell them at their fete. I would have done the same this year had they been offered to supporters. A shameful waste.

Sir Buzzkillington

I wonder if any knight worth his salt would class a scooter as his noble steed? It would make jousting hard that's for sure.

geez i thought it was a punk supporter in the stands, til I looked closer & saw Pendle's, & then made out Jones'y, thru his wig, until I took my glasses off. then saw the wig wasn't on the Jones boy's head at all.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
