Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

“We wanted to continue to build hard and competitive midfielders, who can hit the scoreboard. I think we did that with our first two picks in Christian and Angus with their big bodies and power they have.

All the boys come with good footy character and a willingness to compete, which is really important for our football club right now.

lets start hitting hard in the contests, & any who won't go when its they're turn; go back to go - do not collect match payments

Petracca, Brayshaw and Viney starting in the centre square is going to be awesome

for once it will be the Demons cracking heads

It's going to be "crunch" time. I'm loving the look of a midfield with Jones, Tyson, Viney, Brayshaw, Petracca and Neal-Bullen. Combine this with the number of outside runners we are building and we're starting to look good. If they all come on as hoped we will be far more competitive in 2016.

Fark you can be a wet blanket at times OD

Let the kids enjoy themselves for a while.

There are months until we lose a game. You can dominate the board then

Just a statement of fact GTB

Take it however you want

He has not re signed yet!

I wouldn't think he will re-sign until the new CBA is announced. Why take a slice of the small old pie that's been on the table for 5 years when there's a giant new pie just about to come out of the oven.

You can factor a CBA increase into the new contract.

You're being a very naughty boy. You keep this up OD and I'll have a word to my other contact and there'll be no Chrissie presents for you.

Do away with your wicked pragmatism. Faith & belief, my friend.

crawf, i think od would argue that he already carries many scars from previous bouts of optimistic fantasy, faith and belief and is inoculating himself from possible false dawns by cloaking himself in pragmatism.

his approach strikes a chord of resonance in many but maybe he would be better served by not voicing his misgivings so frequently and vociferously

You are correct dc and you have no idea how well I have kept myself in control the last 24 hours.

I have said a 100th of what is on my mind.

To truly receive the gift of redemption, one must be open to the belief that it will come. I don't want OD to be the aged loner outside the MCG crying, "Let me in", whilst the faithful whoop and holler inside.

It it is Dees or nothing for me.

You're one small step away from redemption OD. The next step is to shout your faith to the world and stop cloaking it in doubt.

Come on, do it with me - 1,2,3,

GO DEES!

Hahahaha!! That got me laughing

This has been a hell week...I have been saying goodbyes to Redundant ABC staff today...People i have worked with since 1987

It's tough....

Go Demons...I too am reserving my judgments on how much the team has improved until the siren sounds next year..

But let us hope we have now truly recruited young tough Jets who actually are the 2nd & 3rd best rated kids in the land....

I'll believe it when I see it

"I simply want to coach the team that is the hardest to play against in the AFL"

"That means all over the ground we're going to be the hardest to play against. There will be a number of components that come with that."

I like the way these guys tackle. Nath Jones is a great player but he often seeks the footy out, he's a strong tackler but it's not quite a hallmark to his game. Dom Tyson the same. Bernie Vince was more solid than I thought, but he doesn't really bulldoze guys. Jack Viney does. Brayshaw isn't full filled out yet but he seems to like a tackle. And Petracca is just a beast. I think he'll prefer getting the ball than defensive stuff but he has the tools and attitude. Neal-Bullen looks a very disciplined player at the stoppages. A couple of months working with Simon Goodwin, learning the Roos grappling methods, toughening up with some boxing and then come February they get to learn the Geelong ways from Brendan McCartney.

I thought our clubs culture was just to make up the numbers in the AFL

With the best time of the year is the off season as the MFC never loses a game.

I'm totally rapped we got these kids, the boost they give our future midfield is huge... With all the crazy draft hype now days, it's easy to forget that they are just kids who are unlikely to have any major impact next... but... If they do, I'll just be hoping we can keep them... With the way player movement is going, I doubt we'll keep them all...

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
