Tony Tea 2,816 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Clever move to crowbar the compensation bid with the priority pick bid.
felixdacat 459 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 hwfua was not a fa He was a FA just not a Free Agent!
DeeZee 7,496 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 U look like a yellow teletubbie dude! If we get Dangerfield I'll get in there with you.
Pennant St Dee 13,440 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Supporters whinging about losing Frawley and not being fairly compensated is perfectly fine. Considering the AFL haven't exactly bent over for the MFC of late, I understand the concern of supporters. Also media outlets suggesting last week Frawley would only command 400k - only adds to the concern. Pick 3 is excellent compensation for a good stoppage backman, with limited skills, poor decision making - and below average execution. The media, seriously they are 90% incompetent fools, quality journalists are few and far between and as I said Freo were offering massive dollars, which I know from outside the media to get him to move, Vic clubs didn't have to match that offer for him to stay home but they certainly had to go up to and above the $500k per season and give him a decent length of contract.
Dockett 32 1,239 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Frawley on very big bucks at Hawthorn, has performed only fairly, from a bottom club, reputed to have a (unconfirmed) back issue and played no part in winning any premierships. I imagine a number of senior premiership players at the Hawks are never ever going to see this type of dough. Hope the white ants have just entered the building.
Demon Stalwart 255 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 What can one say except Finally there is some Justice As far as other clubs are concerned
beelzebub 23,392 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Evans won't sleep tonight..........too bad !!!!
jabberwocky 2,301 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 This is good news. Now can we make it work to our advantage.

Pipefitter 2,225 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Can someone double check to make sure there aren't anymore Morton's we can draft.
What 18,810 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Confirmed on MFC website. Out: Frawley, pick 39 In: Pick 3, Billy Stretch Not a bad first day of the trade period

Pick 3 is excellent compensation for a good stoppage backman, with limited skills, poor decision making - and below average execution. I will certainly be watching Chip with interest to see if these deficiencies suddenly disappear once he has the time and space he never had at MFC as well as support and options all around him in a functioning backline with mid field support. My other interest will be how many games he plays vs Lake. They won't play both of them in the same game too often I would have thought. This is the Hawks bringing in depth at zero cost to them for what is the AFL's near perfect playing list.
Demonsone 2,056 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Let's hope our current recruiters do it justice...as our history of early picks is diabolical!
The HuLK 139 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Frawley: Frah-Li. Rhymes with 'creepy crawley. Small insect that claims to have red and blue blood and a heart that beats true. On further inspection has no stomach, brain or ability to lead and requires a yellow and brown anus to closely follow otherwise would lose itself and curl up like a slater. Cashturnal: only seen at contract time. Hahahaha this is gold!!
P-man 13,367 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Yes this is very nice, but let's not forget the far more important issue here. Whose in the "I told you so" camp? *raises hand*
Wormburner 674 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Does anyone know whether if we landed Malceski, would it affect this pick 3?
mdemonski2 403 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Yes it would cancel out our compo. So we will give mal a wide berth methinks.
thevil1 421 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Does anyone know whether if we landed Malceski, would it affect this pick 3? Yep, unless we get him to go in the PSD and put a contract on him the saints won't go near.
TheoX 1,222 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Yes it would cancel out our compo. So we will give mal a wide berth methinks. Yeah, he's either staying put or more likely going to GC anyway. Don't think we're in the running.
