Of course AFC are going to say Danger isn't on the trade table. He's not. If he leaves it's because he wants to, and they will make damn sure the supporters know that. Hes their best player and fan favourite, AFC will be in damage control if he goes, they sure as [censored] won't make it look like this is what they wanted.

What a ridiculous thread! Danger coming to to the Dees! FMD!!!

We are a bunch of poor desperate bastards - this is a fact. However some poor sods on this thread will pull their dicks clean off if they don't settle down.

Bitter and not so optimistic

Poor comparison BB. Apples to pumpkins, grapes to shiraz - different situations.

Not at all.. Both seen as ridiculous long shots. More like Syrah and Shiraz ^_^

Pick 2,3 for Danger,10 & Lyons

or

Pick 3, Trengove/Toumpas for Danger, 10.

?

So unrealistic

Try

pick 2 and 3

for Danger and their 2nd rounder

For the appeasers. A bit like no champagne from anywhere but frogland.

well to be ultra picky then non other than from the region itself.

The topical analogy isnt really as far fetched as you might think though BBO.

The essence is about the likelihood of someone seen as such a remote chance joining the club. The 'popular' view is that we are some sort of a leper colony and ne'er the destination of the accomplished.

Some , if not the many , especially outside of those who love this club, thought it nigh impossible we could land a coach of the caliber of Roos especially as hed all but said he wasnt really interested in even coaching, let alone us.. He saw , eventually, an irresistible challenge and came on board.

Maybe some players might see a similar ideal and also join.

Seriously..I think its similar, granted BBO you dont

Personally I don't think we have a chance to get him HOWEVER something doesn't add up with this line of thinking.

The facts are that we've just officially inquired with Adelaide if he is available for a trade.

It has also been widely speculated that we've been in discussions with his manager for quite sometime now.

Why would we approach Adelaide if he wasn't open to a trade with us? I highly doubt that we would approach the club without confirming interest from his manager.

Interesting times ahead (apologies if this has already been pointed out, I haven't read the whole thread)

nothing will get done till Frawley is gone and we get that pick

this could be why now the afl has said the compensation

picks will be done once the player confirms he is leaving and the deal is done

rather than later

as it was going to hold up many trades

Don't underestimate what losing Dangerfield might mean to a club like Adelaide.

Exactly....they can have two picks (2 & 3) this year or they can have approx. one pick next year eg: Pick 8-12....

One thing they do have is midfield depth.

Hyperthetical: Crows say yes to picks 2 & 3. Chip says he wants to stay. Deal is off. This sounds like something that would happen to us.

Think you'll find Chips locker combo has already been changed !!!

Make it 2, Toumpas and 21 for 10 and 29.

Not Toumpas.

It's all a dance. There's clearly much, much more going on than has been revealed.

What I will say... Paul Roos does not come out and say he wants Dangerfield if he knows the answer is no. That is an absolute fact. He would not embarass himself with such a display.

Conversely, if Danger has told them he is undecided, what on earth does the club gain by stating this publicly and putting him under pressure? It could destroy months of work by showing your hand to the media, it's a complete antithesis to the way Roos normally operates. So why are we making this potential trade public already?

The AFL saying they will announce compensation immediately after free agents leave also implies a lot of backroom action from the likes of PJ informing the AFL of our intentions and that delaying announcement of our compensation could destroy a landmark trade in the making.

The AFC coming out last week saying Danger could be traded, but today saying he isn't on the table unless he asks? They're firming their position as a club to make sure they don't repeat the Vince situation where fans were displeased that a club favourite was pushed out the door. Adelaide would be over the moon if they got 2 & 3 in exchange for Danger. Not only does it free up the money to secure Sloane and Tex this off season, it gives them two potential guns in this draft to make amends for their years of draft sanctions.

Quietly confident.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
