What's with the moronic comments about us allegedly paying for his girlfriends uni course? One since when it is a fact. Two what possible relevance does it have. This thread is an embarrassment to demons fans

Clark praised Demons coach Neeld for the "sell" to both himself and partner Samantha Blades, who is looking forward to starting a university course in Melbourne next year.

Blowing MEMBERS MONEY on some womans uni course

a woman that has nothing to do with the club

If you cant see the problem with it then i dont know what to tell you

Except that this didn't happen. Someone misread a post a few pages back; they meant clarks salary paid for her course not that we paid for it. How the hell do you think that would have been squeezed into his contract.

Instead of jumping the gun and flaming about everything related to the guy, wait a few weeks until you know some facts.

Worst thread on demonland, bad case of Chinese whispers.

Good get, but doesn't confirm that we actually paid for her course, or how much we paid.

If anybody has any more details, I'd be grateful if you shared em.

It's our money - shouldn't be top secret.

Labumba gets on the paddock. Therefore that is a win i guess despite Clarks clear intensity and talent in all 15 games

Josh M's comments sounded a lot like a blindsided MFC.

You could equally read them as calculating. I dunno. The MFC might just be playing this cleverly.

Fair point

Reminds me of my Babcock & Brown shares bought at $8.60

That's $10,000 I'll never see again.

Then some litigation firm starts a class action to recover some of the "lost" money and they want 50% of any recoveries.

Half is a bit steep, but my accountant says 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing so I signed up

Btw from what i understand Clark's contract was heavily front loaded meaning his retirement arrangement might have reduce what would have bern a neglible fourth year payment. But remember - Ross Lyon is i the bad guy here.

its a fair comment ...seriously . Those that want to trot out the " he sacrificed much " might want to rethink

can someone enlighten me as to how many days from now this Clark issue will be done and dusted because it's ruined my last 2 days. Although I can't say I'm as glum about the whole thing as I was when it first broke. It could work out well, in fact. Thanks.

The whirling dervish may end up going through the right door but the destruction along the way could have been lived without .

I've had a slightly nasty little thought regarding all this. How much luck have the Pies had recruiting a second key forward so far? Lynch was a lemon, White has been average. If the trend continues, it could be a sure indication that they'll be getting another lemon in Clark. It could turn out to be as good a deal for us as swapping the Gys for Pederson turned out to be.

Definitely. Many have said it already, but there is every chance Clark, once back in the game will be a complete fizzer. However, the temptation that he won't be, should be enough of a carrot for at least one of 17 clubs to take a punt and to give us something decent for him. In this way I see we are in a winning situation. Unless of course, he stays, and fizzles for us. Or someone nabs him and he dominates.

He's a shiny Lamborghini in our garage, with major doubts on the engine and other critical parts.

I'm sure others must be pondering this: Let's say it is accurate to suggest that MC has 'blindsided' us and wants to go elsewhere in what seems as a stab in the back for what we've been through with him. In the space of the last 36 hours, the backlash evident in the 'professional' media and social media has been scathing towards MC. Does this now affect MC's (or more his management) gameplan? Didn't they see this coming? What I'm saying is.. is MC now sitting there thinking 'what have I done' and will the goalposts move now? and if so, does that mean we will just take him in, in spite of the supposed betrayal he has made? Or is all of this just a charade with some deeper machinations we cannot be aware of? This has got to be one of the most fascinating scenarios I can recall, just wish I knew all the facts!

What does being Gen Y have to do with anything?

I get sick of this crap too. So Gen Y are the only generation to chase money? What a load of BS.

GNF has to be a troll. Why would you post that other than to incite a riot from demon fans?

It worked.

I was thinking he may have been told by his contacts at the MFC to post it to ensure we gain maximum compensation. Maybe, I'm clutching at straws? I do love a GNF post though.

I've heard from a source within the club that Dave Misson put Mitch on a training program for the last 4 months with the intention to get Mitch back and healthy for a return to the Demons and that Dave Misson has been training him personally off-site.

Mitch did intend and want to come back to the Demons.

Demons said they would pay him X.

Mitch got greedy and said he wanted much more than X and said he would go talk to other clubs, which he is doing.

From my understanding MFC have assessed his likelihood of a successful return given his foot, soft tissue and mental issues and are holding strong on their offer.

My take is that I think Mitch owes us enormously and he should take whatever we offer him given what he has repaid us over the last 3 years, 15 games for $2million plus.

He owes us ... end of story.

it won't happen unless something changes via the AFL.. With Free Agency here, we are going to be consistently pick clean of talent... Hope your happy with compensation picks, because thats what we'll get a lot of... We are becoming a glorified TAC cup team...

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
