I think the he said/she said, he did/he didn't is now irrelevant. The issue which is very relevant is the compensation we receive via trade for picks or player if he comes back. May be the reason Roos met with the magpies player!!!

I suspect the club isnt immune from knowing a thing or two about a player or two

The danger for Mitch if he signs with a team like Collingwood is that we may pass them in the next couple of years. Roos will be coaching some great young players like Lovett, Viney, Salem, Stretch, Toumpas and Brayshaw and/or Petracca. Our midfield is building and Vince, Jones, Cross and maybe a couple more yet to be traded in players should be able to develop a potent midfield. Maybe players like Clarke are not intelligent enough to see the promise, remember he is very much part of Generation Now, who can be a little bit petulant when things get hard.

having had depression for a number of years & knowing a fair bit about it

i was a sceptic about mc 's depression & was thinking this looks & smells like he wants out of a lowly club

& wanting to get back to WA with his family; & will make a startling comeback :-).. with freo;.

he did NOT tick any box for depression..

it comes from an anxiety that has a catalyst !!

either EXTREME emotional loss through a family member or friend'

heavy financial loss or burden

or EXTREME physical injury or disease ( ie; cancer - loss of limb).

he had a million $ plus contract

a healthy happy family -lucky to have a beautiful wife & child who is a big support.

his extended family inj WA was the only missing link..

to a picture perfect life...

this smelled from the get go that after a plan with manager how do i get to freo without losing too much of the green..

as soon as he signed final OUT with MFC his whole body language changed & u couldn't wipe his smile away..

it seems extremely low grade behavior ; but hey i could be totally wrong..

The story is now on MFC website. I know that the Club does not control these articles. Thought this line telling: Clark's management has been in dialogue with AFL officials about what would need to happen in the event of any comeback.

Very poor if he hasn't also spokent to the Club as Josh M seems to suggest. I'm feeling very cynical right now and unforgiving so it all looks a bit underhanded to me! My opinion of one MC is spiralling south faster by the minute!

That may be your experience, but people who seemingly have it all from the onlooker's perspective can suffer all the same.

Having an obvious catalyst would make it somewhat easier to treat as there can be a focus on working around that trigger, having no obvious catalyst is much more frustrating.

I essentially agree with you. Ive known this dark cloud also. Nothing youd ever want to wish upon another and as such there are various paths to it . Few out.

He may well have endured some misery etc and may well have become depressed ( what Demon hasnt ) but a lot of this looks like it ran to a script. I might not have. In a way it ,to me , doesnt matter as that doesnt go to how an honourable person would act.

Theres a lot that isnt right about all of this.

If this pans out as it looks and the ferocity of disdain is released in one volly of unloading then its possible the MFC's new home could be shifted to Werribee which is possibly where many suspect we've been for a long time

I don't think that any of this was planned by Mitch Clark as a means to leave the club.

When he retired he was very much into his photography, I just think that things have changed but sadly the impression is that they no longer involve the Melbourne Football Club.
