6. Viney More like his old man every game. Big man crush

5. Dawes

4. JKH

3. McDonald

2. Vince

1. Bail

Apologies to Tyson and the Russian. Still not great from Watts for me.

6 - Dawes: it was a team effort but this guy was far and away BOG, IMO. The goal-kicking, the presence, the tackle, the leadership. Amazing.

3 - JKH

Apologies to most of the team. One of the most satisfying victories of the past decade for mine (I know there haven't been many). To beat the Crows on their own turf in front of 50,000 of their feral fans, delightful.

This is tough.

6. Dawes - bottom line is we don't win that game without him.

5. Vince - 26 touches, 9 clearances, 6 tackles. Clearly wanted to make a statement.

4. Viney - future captain written all over him. The way he attacks the contest is amazing and inspiring.

3. Jamar - would've silenced a few doubters today. Made Jacobs look very second rate at times.

2. Tyson - could be higher up but Vince and Viney that little bit better.

1. JKH - so composed and still so young. Showing why he was a captain as a junior.

Jetta very unlucky. Was excellent on Betts who usually has a field day.

Grimes very unlucky. Inspirational how he went back with the flight so many times. Vince unlucky too

6 - Chris Dawes - absolute colossus

5 - Dom Tyson - Not hard to see why he was a pick 3 a couple of years ago. Just wins the ball in close, and is great on the outside too. That goal was special.

4 - Jack Viney - unbelievable work rate and unbelievable strength and heart. hes bloody quick too.

3 - Jay Kennedy Harris - his amazing first quarter goal sparked us and he went from strength to strength. Looks like a future midfield star, what a boost for the club getting him at pick 40

2 - Bernie Vince - worked tirelessly and stuck it up his old team

1 - Neville Jetta - so many people wanted him dropped. Roos had faith, and Jetta responded by absolutely smashing Betta, doubling his possessions and making him look VFL level at best. Well done Neville

Honourable mention for Georgie boy- not many touches but a KO.- which was the difference .

6. Chris Dawes - set the tone, worked his heart out and kicked the telling goals when they needed to be kicked.

After this very difficult probably a muddle of five or six players who could be anywhere from 5 to 1.

5. Bernie Vince - not confident he deserves to be this high, but thought he was our main midfield driving force at the stoppages.

4. Jay Kennedy-Harris - probably the best crumbing forward game by a Demon since Jeff Farmer. Endless supply of clever traps and gives.

3. Dom Tyson - just a class act and won a heap of the footy again and used it smartly.

2. Jack Viney - hard and tough, bled for the jumper and with Vince, terrific at the stoppages.

1. Jeremy Howe - answered his critics with a stylish game across half-back, his best for a long time.

Jetta and Jamar frighteningly stiff.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
