I went to the closed session today.

No one told me to p155 off.

I was the only spectator there.

It was just specific skills training.

Kicking straight over 20m was very impressive. Low sharp passing dead straight. Chest high.

Hogan was doing laps.

Watts was very upbeat and vocal in the kicking drills.

Hunt was a bit embarrassed with the few tat didn't hit the target.

Viney was there today Pata

The Rehab group arrived about 10:15 Gawn Pedo no sign of Dawes and Clarky.

I tried to ask Ben Matthews a question, but was fresh aired.

I guess that's the different with closed training. Their mouth is closed.

Getting close to the pointy end. Loose lips and all that.

Can you feel it? Go deees!

I'm excited.

Demons put a line through Clark for round one

There was hope that Clark would be fit to lead the Demons' forward line in the opening round, but the club has come to the realisation that he has not had an adequate preparation.

The serious foot injury that kept Clark sidelined for almost the whole of 2013 is a thing of the past, but a niggling hamstring injury has not settled in time.

The Demons are likely to be light on for tall options in the forward line early in the season, with Chris Dawes on a similar timeframe to Clark.

Wonder how long it will be until we see Dawes and Clark in the team together?

Wasn't Dawesy supposed to be playing against the Hawks? must be a fair hamstring for clark to be out this long.. :/

In the same article Mahoney said Dawes was a week to two weeks away.

He is nowhere near as far off as Clark is.

No suprise about Clark. I think Dawes may be a bit behind as well. I highly doubt he will be ready for round 1.

Hogan, Fitzpatrick, Pedersen and Howe. I'm pretty happy with that for round 1. Hopefully JKH will get a game.

Still think we will beat the saints, and hopefully Dawes will be getting a game shortly after.

I would love to have Clark back and over his injuiries 100%

Terrible shock, Dawes is out.

Obviously being conservative with Dawes. Hopefully he plays a VFL practice match next week (if not this week) and then can be right round 2 if 1 game isn't enough for round 1.

Clark, who knows. Very happy to play the long waiting game with him.

You say that tm as if we have a choice.

It may seem strange but since very early this year I have not thought of Clark as being part of the team for the most part of 2014 if at all.

All my calculations as to wins etc do not include him.

I also have Dawes only playing a minor part in 2014 as well.

We desperately need Dawes this year but he has looked brittle since his arrival last year.

In the same article they listed Tapscott as " Small Utility "

Seemed a strange description.

Now I will declare I am not a fan but does that mean like me they are struggling to work out what he does?

To be honest, I'm not. I think we'll have to end up making a call on Clark at the end of the season if he doesn't get onto the park for adequate game time.

God knows he's taking up a fair chunk of the cap and not doing a whole lot. Obviously not his fault and it must be ultra frustrating for him.

2015 to go Django.

Not sure about him but is bloody frustrating for many of us out here in the outer.

AH FFS I said this early last year , I will be surprised if dawes clark ever play in the same game , very surprised , aint gunna happen , sad that but face it , bugger bugger and bugger

Is anyone really surprised that MC ain't ready to go? He hasn't been any where near completing a full preseason.

(I recall Richardson had similar problems but importantly he did get back on the park).

As for Dawes every time he seems up and about he gets injured.

Looks like the forward line will be Hogan, Fitz and Howe

If Clark re-injures the foot, I'm sure he'll retire.

Love Clark, I like Dawes. Damn shame that their careers both look set to be ruined.

Posted

I know they are both injured, but man i am getting over not having them on the park.
Feels like we are constantly living in "hope" with these two.
This imaginary forward line is trying my patience, especially now we actually have a midfield who can deliver them the damn ball!
I get they are injured, but man it's frustrating.
Talk about dingling the darn' carrot.

Another season of "injured" (weak) gutless spud losers.

Might be worth the wait in the end......be patient, but yeh I agree with you.
Posted

If we can get Dawes back on the park within the next few weeks, we'll be right.

Then we can be as safe with Clark as possible, and give him enough time for him to be able to play football for years to come.

Mark my words - they will play together in the side, when? I don't know, but they will.

Posted

This is Clarks 3rd season.

He is getting $800,000 a year.

He is out of contract at the end of September 2015, I think.

He has played 15 games for Melbourne Football Club.

please someone tell me Ive got it wrong.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
