Roos can't lose

Recommended Posts

I just feel as fans, members and paying contributors to the MFC (which i am all three) that we deserve an open line of communication about the club that we invest time, money, blood, sweat, and tears into.

Anything the club tells you, the club tells everyone. Journalists, opposition clubs, supporters...everyone. There is no secrecy in football.

I stumbled on the MFC "injury list" from last Saturday's game here

Mitch Clark (hamstring) 2 - 3 weeks

Chris Dawes (calf) 1 -2 weeks

James Frawley (ribs) test

Colin Garland (ankle) 4 weeks

Jesse Hogan (back) TBC

Nathan Jones (eye) TBC

Aidan Riley * (leg) 6 weeks

Luke Tapscott (knee) 1 week

Strangely enough Max Gawn and Mark Jamar aren't on the list but didn't play at the weekend.

Why?

This whole information thing from the mfc is a joke .Been a mfc supporter since born in 1952 ,bought up on thechamps like williams barras and roet they played hurt ,unfit (compared to todays athletes)trained twice aweek doing circle work then to the pub.Whats wrong with todays players is they are not hungry enough, spoilt brats, they get a truck load of money for nothing (clark, dawes).Lets stop defending these premadonas ,leave Watts alone and pick on the real culprits, jamar has had calf for 2years ,oh come on,dawes did his calf last season a year later cant get right,oh come on,[censored] you misson, jones an elite mid, ablett is, not jones.Am a redleg member ,joined first in mid 70s ,cost only $48 used to go to messien bar ,got so drunk there one night with crackers in his purple suit.Handing back my redlegs membership toworrow sick of being treated like crap by the club I supported all my life.fumfc

Some may not agree with me, but I found this particular article very interesting, even if it is about Arsenal rather than MFC.

Just a highly respected fitness expert (or "High Performance Manager") talking about the fitness needed for sport.

Although AFL players don't play 2 games a week like some soccer players can, I imagine footy is harder on the body in a lot of ways.

Umm he has had that at North, Werribee and now at the MFC and Casey.

Looks good at VFL level.

but seriously under the standard for AFL.

I think he was brought in for depth, with the possibility we could train him into a reasonable player. as dunn has become.

I've not given up on him becoming a useful player on our list.

first impressions count very little to me. & especially in our last season's team form.

there's no way Pederson's going to be a gun. but he could be depth, tall swingman, playing mostly @ Casey.

we need some solid bodies to helpout in our young list.

the next 2 seasons will see how he responds.

Sounds like two wheels are not for you PSD.

I have had the door opening one and a few others but fortunately nothing more than a bit of lost skin and an episode with shock.

Never had shock before or since thank God.

Now Shock is a strange thing I actually thought I was dying it hit me 30 minutes after a mishap of leaving the bike.

nothing shocks me OD, I've been in a perpetual state of stress most of my life, its a way of life... so shocking things are in stride, blood & guts, fires, motor accidents don't worry me... maybe the fear of drowning may freak me?

I hasd an ambulance officer trying hard tosell me some pain killer stick years back for the smashed Tibia & fibula... I wondered why he was so persistant?

In the end I relented & took the pain killer; partly to ease his concern, & partly because the bumping of the bone ends together was freaky.

back in hospital waiting in the corridor for the X-Ray, I was smashing the concrete wall, I think with a little pain, but mostly anxiety. & sick of waiting around on a trolley in a hallway alone.

pain is all in the head. its only relative, until it makes you sick.

# I saw a young lass brought into a clinic just the other day in a wheelchair, by who appeared tio be her partner. she was very sad, & down beat; then nearly crying, I overheard her say to the station nurse, "have you got a bed I can lye on, I'm in so much pain, I can't stand it"

It was very concerning. I felt her grief...

2-3 weeks for Clark is like 7 regular weeks. What's wrong with him anyway, I heard stuff from him ages ago saying that his foot is fine and that he's excited and training hard, yet every time i've been to training he's jogged for 10 mins around the boundary and gone back to the rooms quickly. I only saw him have a couple of shots once. For God's sake, get a footy in his hands and let him practice leads and marks inside 50 or something, get him back into the feel of footy at least

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
