Wondering if anyone had heard when this was likely to occur.

I'd heard someone say Monday Feb 20th, however Feb 20 is a Thursday. January 20th is a monday, but that seems far to soon.

Wondering if anyone else had heard anything?

Why would Monday week be too soon? At least it falls before our first NAB Challenge Cup match against Richmond on Friday 14 February and allows Roos to get some feedback on personnel and structures before we play against other Clubs. Personally I would opt for the earlier time which gives us a fortnight or so to fine tune or rethink prior to taking on the Tigers.

Just mean it's to soon in the sense that they normally advertise it somewhat on the website. And so far zero....

Roos talked about an early practice match in the interview on Dee TV, but didn't mention a date i don't think. I hope it is before end of Jan because i have leave late Jan and would love to watch it.

on a similar note, does anyone have any insight as to what to expect at training on various days? I went on Monday and was slightly disappointed that there was maybe 40 minutes ball work and then heaps and heaps of running

does anyone know if there is a type of schedule in which certain sessions focus more on ball drills?

I doubt there's a public available schedule, but I do recall Roos saying that the first week of training in the new year would be about continuing the running they have been doing pre-Christmas and during the Christmas break and that on Friday the 10th there would be a time trial. If they performed well in that they could then tick off the running / fitness side of things and start to focus more on the game plan.

So perhaps from next week onwards there will be more ball work.

. Perhaps - though I'm pretty confident of a dees win!

You beat me to it, though knowing our luck it will be a draw :-(

Good question DD. I'm none the wiser. First nab challenge game on Feb 14 you'd think either Wednesday or Friday next week would be ideal for some practice match type activities. Given it's still so long from our first nab challenge until round 1 I wouldn't expect a full scale practice match but more an invitation to watch some match simulation.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
