GAME DAY - 2013 GRAND FINAL (SANFL)

It wouldnt surprise me WJ, he has a great record. What did you think of Aish's game ?

Great hearing the song but I can't get my head around the words, "the team played fine in the year 29"?

5AA commentators praising coach Nathan Bassett and suggesting he's about to embark on an AFL coaching career.

Could he possibly be in Paul Roos' sights!

The lyrics contain the reference to 2 premiership years 1929 and 1946

they say 46 six six six to rhyme with the we were hard to lick lick lick

Haha them croweaters are pretty funny

Bet Neil Balme has a smile on his face

As for Bassett i think he will come to the AFL

After a 2-3 year Roos apprenticeship he would be ready

Feather in his cap is he has a defensive style of game plan

Winning a premiership in the SANFL is how Clarkson got the gig at the Hawks

Basset today won back to back

Watching on iview right now. I have to say I like the look of Aish. I'd call him rangy rather than skinny. He'll never be a powerhouse but he could wind up with a Jobe Watson-type build to go with good pace and really nice skills. Totally worth taking at 2 if we still have it.

If Jobe Watson isn't a powerhouse than I don't know who is.

I didn't see the game but listened on radio. Aish and Dumont played well in the first half but both faded after half time. I'm taping the game when it's on ABC1 later in the week but won't get to watch it until I return from a trip overseas.

The radio commentators were pretty happy with both youngsters and I was happy to catch the vision of Billy Stretch from the reserves game. I was genuinely surprised at his talents. Hopefully, he gets to spend some of next year at Casey like Jack Viney did last year.

"So hard to kick goals against from stoppages." That's another area we're weak in that Norwood do well.

This is the first time I've seen Aish play and I can say that he isn't a bit like Morton. He's skinny, but in a long kind of way and he isn't afraid of contact. As I said above, I can see him developing a build similar to Jobe Watson. His skills are very impressive, in particular that they hold up under pressure. I think he'd be well worth it if we can't get an outright gun in trade for pick 2.

Apparently we have spoken to everyone including him so speculation builds. after all it is a big decision!

Jack, he would be the perfect fit.

He knows the words to the song and he doesn't really need to wait 10 weeks to sing it.

Very highly doubt Aish will get to Watsons build.. Watson is a solid 96kg with powerful legs. Aish will be lucky to clock 82 kg. If anyone he will most likely have the build of a Kade Simpson or Dyson Heppell.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
