Eade not coaching next year ...

Eade has come out and declared he is not interested in coaching. No Roos (if we go on what he has stated), no Eade. How many quality coaches does this leave us to choose from? Is Worsfold a possibility

He's taken the director of football role at Collingwood. Less stress and probably more money!

Less stress? What would be stressful coaching the MFC. I think its safe to say he realised how much of a hard slog it would have been

I thought I saw it written in one of the threads on here that the Chocco interview didn't go particularly well?

I thought you keep conclusively saying it won't be Roos, now you give him 3% chance?

Seriously, give it a rest.

Stop trying to pretend you have any more idea than the rest of us.

The first self-contradictory sentence typifies many Demonland posts. There is apparently no room for doubt in statements like "It won't be x", but the author really means "In my view it's extremely likely it will not be x". Which is fine. But by not stating the qualifications it then leads to a flame war which can spread over 10 pages. What fun.

Bummer ey,liked Eade, please Melbourne DO NOT SELECT ANOTHER UNTRIED COACH!!! Our fate must lie in the hands of a Master get one of Williams or Roos, not keen on Craig as senior coach we have still have a few beltings under him doesn't fill me with to much confidence going into next year! Nor Dean Laidley this bloke wasn't overly impressive at North Melbourne. I don't care what they said on the Footy Show last night, I don't care how highly rated Leigh Tudor is at the Swans he is not us at this point in time!!!

I have a feeling it is going to be very similar to the Port Adelaide situation last year with numerous coaching candidates pulling out. Just Imagine the hysteria on here if Chocco pulls out also.

Would love it too be choco and for it to come out that "the interview didn't go well" was a false leak that we put out on purpose. Would be very un Melbourne. Although "interview went poorly but he is all that is left" is very Melbourne so...

What is the evidence for the interview not going well? Seems to be treated as gospel here.

See that annoys me, the interview process is abit silly imo, Neeld from all reports interviewed flawlessly and how did that turn out? Choco's record speaks for itself, he has nothing to prove interview wise, the only thing we need to ask him is 1. do you have the passion to have a resurgent MFC? 2. What makes you a better choice than Eade, Craig and co.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
