Sorry do not agree. Playing as a young kid in a senior side getting thumped week in week outis not good for your development.

Don't know that Jack Viney would agree.

But the list of players that was cited above who "should have been played" in the VFL to strengthen Casey in the finals, only includes two "kids", Kent (doing OK in the firsts) and Toumpas (another easy 30 possessions last week).

Bail has travelled as the emerg to adelaide, so another player one game short for the finals.

I thought someone posted that he had already qualified.

I posted that earlier and have checked the VFL sporting pulse details which reveal that, in addition to the 5 games Rohan played for Casey Seniors, he also played for the Casey Development League (seconds) team on 4 August. I presume that qualifies him for the finals.

What we have done previous years in removing players from selection is not right. Nor would it be right to not promote players in form or drop players earning a spot just so they qualify for the VFL. What has occurred this year with Hogan, Blease and Strauss injured and others one game short is purely bad luck. Toump has had 28 and 30 and deserves to be promoted to play a game in front of family and friends in SA.

Anyone saying we should keep players back in the Casey side just to qualify them for the VFL finals have rocks in there head. The selectors are trying to pick the best side to win a game for the MFC. As much as I like to see Casey do well who cares who qualifies for finals.

Its like when local teams stack their twos late in the season to try and win a flag. No one cares who wins the reserves premiership its all about the seniors. Whats the point of winning a twos flag when your ones are [censored]????

If that were truly the case then Magner would have been in for Pedo.

The point is the club SHOULD at least show an interest in assisting Casey as it is performing well and gives some of our fringe players (sorry, most players at the MFC are fringe players  ), a chance to play finals football at the next level down against teams that are probably (in some cases) somewhat equal to or in rare cases maybe better than our seniors team because as you said our AFL team is already [censored] / season's done & season over (months ago).

Thanks KC, c'mon scorps bring it home. How's the big Russian going?

Breaking even at best but it's his first game back after a break.

Magner goals and its game on. Casey 7.9.51 to Box Hill 8.10.58.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
