Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Club statement: Friday, 19 April

By melbournefc.com.auExclusive to melbournefc.com.au 8:50pm AEST Friday, April 19, 2013

THE MELBOURNE Football Club today accepted an offer by Club doctor Dan Bates to stand aside, effective immediately, pending the outcome of an investigation by ASADA and the AFL into a pre-season supplements program at the Club.

MFC President Don McLardy said that the Club felt it was appropriate that Dr Bates stand aside while the details of the program and the circumstances under which it was administered are independently reviewed.

"We have sufficient concerns about an identified breakdown in reporting protocols that we believe it is appropriate that Dr Bates stands aside until these matters are further investigated," McLardy said.

Immediately following the announcement of the Essendon investigation in February, the MFC board commenced an internal review into supplements, headed by a suitably qualified director. That review involved numerous interviews, including three with Club doctor, Dr Dan Bates.

To date, the internal review has found no evidence that the supplements program at the Club contravened any ASADA or WADA guidelines, and no evidence that any player has been administered a banned substance at any time.

The Club is fully committed to cooperating with both ASADA and the AFL, as part of their ongoing investigation.

The Club is unable to comment further until the investigation is complete.

Saw that quite a few times during the tanking investigation!

Yes I know but the question is if the MFC had an internal investigation and found this all out why was Dr. Bates still at the MFC?

Don't tell me it's Bates' fault and the McLardy lynch mob is in the wrong....

This doesn't change anything, Stuart. It's still shoddy corporate governance and it's still in the President's domain.

Another example of fessing up first up is always less painfull than covering up and then being caught out. Most of us have been there at some time.

If there were no WADA, ASADA violations then there would not be much of an issue had the doc come clean during one of those 3 interviews!!

I reckon Dr. [censored] is an AFL/Bummers' plant.

They built him up and helped enhance his CV a little, then tossed him out to us as soon as they (the AFL & The Bummers) got wind of ASADA on their ass. No doubt the Bummers went to the AFL with this problem. Vlad came up with the idea, the meeting went along the following lines....

"Hey Golden Boy, get him down to Demonland through a back door quickly. Get him to contact that ding bat Dr of their's ... Man Dates. Don't worry, just offer him a few sweetners, he'll take the Bate! Besides, they're a catfish (bottom feeder) club so it will take the heat of you blokes and make it look like 'Other teams' are implicated. No one cares about 'em anyhow so they can cop the rap and act as a distraction. We'll make sure they go down in a big way with drip fed text leaks to the press from our mate Dr. [censored]. It's all sweet Golden Boy. And don't worry, if you need a leg up you can call on your mate Bill anytime for a chop out. Just pick up that bat phone in your office at Rooty Hill and we'll send him over in the Vlad Mobile pronto!".

It does change some things.

It changes the possible need to fire the board mid-season and gives the lynch mob a chance to put their hand up at the next AGM, which I assume you're ALL going to do seeing there's so many experts here on how to run a football club.

I am no longer going to waste my time refreshing this page - is that it?

The MFC does not want to let anything else slip?

Whats next? - the players will be posting sex tapes online (if only we were in Hollywood we would be huge - any fame is good fame)

Nothing at all. It's either more BS or more evidence of a broken setup.

So I assume that you'll be coaching next year?

Well, aren't you? You're one of the many here who talk like they could easily do a much better job, so step up then OD, don't spend your life complaining about the club, DO SOMETHING.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
