Voss Sacked

Yes but not of coaching.

His results at Brisbane have been poor.

His dumb decision to pay a bomb for Fevola was a disaster and split the Club and hurt the player culture resulting in a number of key players leaving.

A lesser favourite son would have been sacked for that almighty balls up

Understand all that, but still appeals to me more than Williams or eade (assuming that Roos is out) Edited by Stigga

I have always believed that single decision led to the Lions being where they are today.

IMO it set back restructuring the club 3 years and Voss is where he is as a direct result.

Why would Voss appeal to you more than Eade or Williams? both have built a list into a premiership contender.

If we are looking for a coach who hasn't made a mistake will have to be a rookie.

I am sure he has learnt his lesson from that.

Understandable though. Still had brown, black, power at their peak and thought they could pinch one more.

As a side note voss as coach could be a positive in attracting players to the club. I think this is a massive issue for the club going forward.

Yeah, gotta feel for Beamer.

He's out for the rest of the year with an injury so he's going to miss out on having the pleasure of playing under a caretaker coach again.

Thats a shame because it would have been his 7th coach in 11 yrs of footy

He knows how to burn 'em does Brent!

Robert Walls said on SEN, that he believes that Leigh Matthews could be interested in another stint at the Lions...the plot thicnens

leigh is over the best part of his life

noticed on telly every now and then he is starting to waffle like old dee and wyl

the younger players of today will give him a heart attack

love the man but definitely past it

btw stigga, didn't realise you had a death wish

you normally make some sense to me anyway

After he destroyed the culture at another Club?

Aside from Neeld I can't think of a coach who has as badly damaged the list and culture in such a short space of time.

And given you think Voss had Browm, Black and Power at their peak his poor results speak for themselves.

Good, I hope Roos is quivering in his thongs at the prospect.

Probably just hoping that if he mentions another old timer, someone will put his name forward in return,

So brent is running around in a jumper of a sacked coach

last year brent had the sads, instead of biting the bullett & playing for the jumper & club... now his coach has gone. I wonder of this irony will emerge to bite him on his backside in the near.

You mean the same club that defeated Geelong a few weeks ago?

Clearly a shocking list and culture...

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
