The jury is still out for me bb

There is nothing in that statement that actually says anything about his injury.

My fear meter is rising with every non comment.

2 years at $800,000 and he has played 15 games.

Over $100,000 per game.

Not bad is it , Scully earns that, it could also lead him to be a cripple later in life, I was a bit nasty on him in few posts earlier on but I just hope he makes it back, he be a handy addition next year.

i know there's not a lot of love for James Hird on this website. But he came back from a serious foot injury and eventually led his team to a premiership. Let's hope for the same result.

My memory is foggy but Hird was out for a full year , Clarke is now been out way past that I think.

No doubt someone will tell me I am delusional.

I seriously doubt that will happen at the dees he will need to play for another 6 - 8 years.

What happens if he is finished do we have to pay all the last year?

Stupid question I guess the answer is yes!

I'm trying to stay positive with his injury, I can't help but think we made a mistake bringing him back before taking his screw out. Hopefully they can manage this and get it right.

My memory is also foggy, but I think Hird was out for one year, came back for a game or two and then broke down (and into tears) and went out for the rest of that year as well. In all, I think he missed the best part of two years.

This shatters me. It's like Stephen Tingay all over again.

I hope for his sake they can work out sooner rather than later whether he can come back or whether he should give it away.

So devastating for the bloke.

Let's hope he can return next year. If he breaks down again next year then you'd think that's it for him. It will be a Matt Egan type scenario. Such a shame as he was killing it when he first came across, but now his career is in the balance and we're wasting a ton of money having him just sit there. Sucks for him and the club!

Now there is a surprise!

So eleven weeks now to recover in time to start pre season training?

I agree with resting and getting it right.

The thing I don't understand is how at rd 6 they were saying he'll be back in 6 or so wks, it's been more like 6 mths!!

That is what worries me the most.

I don't think anyone knew then and I still don't think they do.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
