What a boring argument.

One person uses logic, states, quotes and thought to construct an argument.

The other person responds with generalisation and throw away comments, not to mention mis-truths.

This will be my last post on this issue as I believe I have stated my point of view pretty clearly and the thread will get nothing out of it continuing.

On person is watching the game, one person thinks the stats tell the story and they don't need to use their eyes.

I get that but he isn't bringing ball to ground. He's playin dumb wet weather footy.

I do appreciate the conditions are impossible. But Watts is playing more intelligent footy.

Inside 50s are the lowest since they started recording it as a stat in 1999.

Howes worst game ever

Jack Watts heading for WOG.

Jack Grimes painfully underdone.

Toumpas has been ok, the bloke has 6 tackles and appears to have a dip.

On days like today, I'd of thought Toumpas would have 0 tackles.

But, his aggression is improving.

Sorry Guys if it wasnt raining we would be looking at a worse result than last time and still nothing to say we wont get close if Geelong keep it up. :(

Disagree. The wet weather is a major disadvantage for us given we are hopeless at clearances and our best asset is our tall towards.

I'm happy with our tackling. We are going hard at the footy, which is all we can ask for when we are getting so comprehensively beaten.

A lot of players will go at seasons end.

They must.

You are so spot on. We need players who will bring people through the gate to watch.

Inside 50's this quarter are more than 15 to 1 and no forward line is going to look good if that occurs.

We are an ordinary side with poor disposal playing the best team in the comp for the 30th year in a row, probably, at their home ground in the wet, and they have big bodied players, we have skinny kids.

Dawes 3 possessions, Watts 4, Howe 5, Fitz 2 and that's because the ball is up the other end, continually; we need a midfield where Nat Jones is a third stringer, we need quality and we need class or the best forward line in the comp just won't kick goals.

Agree, the wet weather is hurting us. Usually it is the opposite with wet weather evening tans up bit it is killing any chance of uncontested possession as we aren't clean enough.

The effort is there, but half our side will not improve.

It must be a ruthless cull similar to the off field restructure.

Trengove, sylvia, grimes the most disappointing .

Dunn no good.

Toumpas, Gawn, frawley Garland Jones havin a crack.

I knew you'd respond with this. I almost wrote your response for you. One thing though - you forgot to address the logic, quotes and thought bit.

Yeah funny about that... Maybe because there was very little.

You're right. "Nah, they're just not trying hard enough" smashed the sht out of 45's argument.

If you're happy with that first half effort then I bet you're lobbying hard for Neeld to be our coach next year.

Trengove is not a captain and a very ordinary player since the sling tackle.

Just shows the flaws with Neeld's captaincy selection system. Trenners is a fine young man, probably a great leader around the club, but he's not an onfield captain, yet anyways.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
