Anyone else noticed the MFC's coverage of Sylvia's 150?

Have they forgotten that Nathan Jones is also reaching that milestone this weekend? No mention on the website thus far...

Certainly no articles, or Jones-related features/stories - correct me if I'm wrong.

The MFC'S website is awash with Sylvia stories and timelines, etc - where are the stories and plaudits for who is, undoubtably, the greatest clubman, and, yes, player, for the Melbourne Football Club at this point in our history?

Just seems more than a little strange and unfair...

Is it just me?

P.S. - Demonologists, excuse the cut-and-paste...

If you look at the website, the main image has one on each side, I have a feeling we'll see a day or so for Jonesy starting Friday, just like the last day or so has been Col.

Well, I hope so anyway....

Balls.

Screw the banner.

This is a player that could potentially top Neitz's 306.

Easily our best player for years. Where are the Nathan Jones stories?

Is this just a keep Colin campaign week?

I think this is a shameful oversight.

If it is a 'keep Colin campaign' then it seems to be working. Let us now focus on them both reaching their 200th game.

A psychologist would love this site. Full of negativity & conspiracy theories.

I am certain than if Melbourne ends up on 3 wins for the season then, Half-Life 3 = confirmed.

Totally agree.

I read in one of the papers that Jonesy's only missed 5 matches since his debut, he's an allround champion!

Same article mentioned that Howe hasn't missed one game since his debut, I think he racks up 50 this weekend - another champion of this team.

Well done fellas, I hope the club recognizes your contribution to date, as I know we do.

its pretty poor isnt it

and Im writing the club on this.

Lamentable that a real champ and a goer gets usurped by the perenial showboat gunnabe.

i actually noticed that..

but dont make it look like Nathan Jones is the unsung hero..

the club publicises time and time again their love for Jones

Eh, maybe Jones has requested they only make a big deal when he passes 200 and 300.

Talk about two completely different 'football journeys'.

I went to training this morning and asked Nathan what was going on......in his typical fashion, said "keeping it quiet''.........I told him he was being "expletive stupid" and deserved every accolade, thanked me, pulled his hood over his head and zipped off

I have received this back from the club

Thought some may be interested

"Thanks for your email.

To explain, this week Nathan Jones has done an exclusive with Fox Footy, a segment with his younger brother for the Robbo Show and will do a pre-game interview when he arrives on Saturday. His ‘time line’ was always planned to go up on the site on Friday.

In regards to Colin Sylvia, he did his first media appearances for the year on Wednesday compared to Nathan Jones who speaks with the media weekly.

I hope this clarifies that we did not ignore Nathan Jones in the lead up to his 150th.

Please feel free to contact me in the future if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Ryan"

OK, our admin hasn't triumphed in all areas, but why do we have so many on here who think the worst of the admin at every turn without at least waiting to see what happens? When these were posted it was still possible that Jones was planned to be parachuted into Skilled Stadium alongside 3 marching bands.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
