Lol. I usually don't mind Robbo, but that is the biggest pile of drivel I have heard in a while. The Dew comments may have merit but our trade period activity seems calculated and very well managed so far.

I watch 360 sometimes and he doesn't annoy me, so much as he makes me chuckle. He cannot string a sentence together. Given he's the head football writer at the Sun, it says all you really need to know about AFL journalism.

Robbo is a bogan who struggles with English but hes 100% spot on about pick 2

Buntine and Bugg are not worthy of that tag.

Id be alot more excited about Kelly/Aish than Buntine Bugg.

Time for the club to stand up and not be walked on. Either get what you want for it or take it to the draft

That's what the club has said all along. Hardly being walked on I would have thought.

Yeah it was posted above. But wasn't entirely edifying other than that st kilda were also keen on Michie and some other stuff about players that if I post may cause hassles.

Thanks mate. Yeah. Sorry. Adam should really read a little more closely.

I can see the point Robbo is making. Pick 2 has to be and out and out star of the game. If not save on a Kelly or Freeman.

Dont mind him on 360 to be honest? Generally he is quite supportive of the dees when idiots like that Maclure sinks the boot in all the time.

Just in regards to the saints rumour - them chasing Billy Longer for their pick just after ours in the 2nd round...

I'm a fan of Gawn and think he's a decent developing prospect, but he's an ACL away from his career being on the rocks.

Spencer I'm more lukewarm on.

Jamar is gone.

Fitzy is a fwd, not a ruck.

None of these 4 have claimed the number 1 spot as theirs in recent times.

Longer however is a promising young ruckman, available on the cheap.

I've heard whispers about iffy character, but know no more.

Surely a decent prospect to bolster our ruck stocks for a 2nd round pick in a weak draft?

Worth having a crack at gazumping the saints?

Can't see how they'd be a more attractive destination than MFC.

Viv certainly agrees.

I have no doubt Frawley to GWS is on the cards. Roos planted the seed through the media. If he won't sign up - then trade him. Free agency compo looks like being scrapped next year so need to put the acid on Chip.

Rumour - Frawley/Shiel - Straight swap - I heard it I am passing it on for what it is worth.

Wouldn't be totally against it if they're aware that Chip won't sign next year.

We'd need to find a way to land Darcy Gardiner....

or we draft Scharenberg at pick 2, if we know he will grow a cm or two.

IIRC Scharenberg 192cm. Frawley 193cm

Robbo weighs in. Evaluating our performance during the trade period before it's even heated up. Quality work.

I see where he is coming from. I was sure that we needed to trade pick 2 but having looked at it realistically what are the chances of us getting a star for pick 2?

If we cant - we should keep pick 2 (provided we can still bring in enough midfield players - both young potentials like Myers and seniors like Vince).

Losing Dew also seemed like a chink in Roos and PJ's unbreakable armour.

He is a restricted free agent so we can, and will, match any offer

When we match that offer, he has the right to reject it and go through the draft.

Because I'm sure nothing would excite Frawley more than relocating to Western Sydney to play for the only club that has won less game than we have over the past two years.

If Frawley ever left it would be for success. That means we'd need to facilitate a trade, and we won't do it unless a star was offered in return. He's stuck with us until he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Let's just create an environment that makes him want to stay. Win a few games next year, make it obvious we are on the up. I have no doubt that Frawley wants success, and he wants it at the MFC, and the only way he will leave is if he can't see it happening there.

There's mutterings at hq about doing away with compo for teams that lose free agents.

I hate free agency.

that will spell the end of any equality and be the death of smaller clubs and we will see the same teams in the top 4 and top 8 every single season

Rumour - Frawley/Shiel - Straight swap - I heard it I am passing it on for what it is worth.

The trade I understand the MFC is putting out there involves pick 2. A pick GWS wants.

As an aside, GWS want to keep Shiel. The Dees want to retain Frawley. Both are flight risks next year.

But such a trade doesn't involve the trade the MFC is offering up (ie, pick 2) at the moment - a pick GWS wants.

This has been the dialogue to date.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but this would be a rather left field development in the context of how the MFC initially approached the trade period.

I suppose that can happen though.

Heard some other stuff but I wont post that.

Don't tease us NSC!!!

It's like sticking an alcoholic in a bottle shop and saying don't drink anything!

Cheers for the other info.

Well, if you want to keep compensation, you better start liking this version of free agency because the player managers are already using discontent with the whole thing to sow the seed of removing compensation altogether.

Grab a hold of this FA because it is the softest form of it on this green earth.
