I know it seems a trivial thing to some, but I'm wondering if a few of us here could put our heads together to send a few new emblem ideas to the MFC?

With a whole new approach and image needed, the emblem is a big part of it, and to me the current one is a bit spiritless and directionless like our club has been.

I'm not trying to start a thread on thoughts on the current one, it's been discussed a bit, but more wanting to start a thread for any creatives on here to throw some ideas around and do something productive for the club we love. More of an ideas thread rather than a MFC bashing thread.

I'll get the ball rolling with a quickie from last night while up with a 3 week old...

that is awesome

1000 times better than the current garbage emblem that clown Cameron Schwab thought up

I must admit I utterly dislike the current emblem. Its all over the place and means nothing. My wife also tells me it all went down hill from the time we adopted it.

will always love the 80s demon logo. But don't mind the above.

too simple mate

i was thinking of a card shaped feature with the jack of diamonds emblem

then we could get all the gamblers from crown casino buying membershups and punting while they are at the footy

we could even set up our own bookie service, saty could do the books and biff could collect off the late payers

imagine the benefits of attracting younger players who would be able punt and play at the same time

its a win win win situation

Don't see anything wrong with our current emblem and think we have far bigger issues at the club to worry about!

I like our current emblem. Not everything Schwab did was bad. Our current emblem was the work of Stynes as much as Schwab.

I agree, and it is certainly not meaningless as some have indicated.

I didn't say meaningless, I said directionless. There's so many elements crammed into one thing, just all seems a bit buys and confused, especially for kids.

I guess my thinking was with all the changes going on let's try and build an actual Melbourne Demons image around simplicity and substance.

Nice work mate! I really like it, simple yet powerful. Although my only constructive criticism is the demon - I'm not a big fan, but please don't take it in a negative way you definitely have a very cool work in progress (I certainly couldn't do any better).

As others have stated, I too don't like the current emblem it is overdone and there is too much confusion with the piece. I also love the old 80's and 90's emblems.

What confusion is there with the current one?

"Who are we playing this week? Is that St Kilda? Or fork and football and stars team? I'm so confused as to whom this logo represents!"

Nah bro, it's Melbourne I think.

I like this emblem, but I can see this being an emblem for a line of clothes rather than for the club. I actually really like the current emblem, I know it's a Schwab creation but just because he made doesn't mean we should get rid of it.

When PJ came in he said too much of this business has been away from the core focus of winning football games.

We don't need a new emblem. We need to focus all our energies on winning games.

We are looking at a massive loss why waste any money on a PR campaign that isn't going to mean a thing when we still lose games.

Can you imagine how much money Schwab spent on the emblem and mascots and things and how they could've been much better spent on extra recruiters or coaches.

somehow i don't think the new administration will be considering emblems and similiar items for quite a while.

i like the current one, just wish we had a club/team good enough to match it.

I feel everything started falling apart when they de-demonised the emblem and went the silly square one.

Thank Christ were back to debating the real issues affecting the club.

Why is it when someone creates a new thread, on a topic that has nothing to do with our current situations, there is always someone leaving a comment along the lines of 'non irrelevant' or 'should be focusing on more important things like decent players' etc

Your obviously all wrapped up in the current affairs with Melbourne and that's great, but maybe some of us would like to put our attention elsewhere and focus it on other things that aren't related to what is in the news right now.

Great emblem Stuie. I too am a fan of the current one (only because of Jimmy) and it should run a little longer, but it would be fantastic if Demonlander's had input on the next one.

Well I don't have much influence on winning games, so probably doesn't take away from the clubs resources when I throw around ideas at home.

Who said anything about a PR campaign or changing mascots? If the club ever wanted to use my ideas I'll gladly let them have them free.

It's not meant to be a debate thread, it's meant to be an ideas thread, sorry to take you away from the MFC board meeting deciding our new coach, are you on lunch break from it?

I don't like the emblem but of course, there are other things confronting the club.

Once we get our on-field stuff together, let's revisit the emblem.

I love the current emblem
