WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

watson was also confident

Ok, so who out of Stevens and Shehan is the most reliable rumour monger?

Neither of them.

Nobody knows but Roos. Everyone else is just guessing.

I wonder if this sub committee will target people for assistant coaching roles.

I'm hearing Roos wants a succession plan ala Longmire. If true that would mean at least one new assistant comes in next year. Of course, Roos would probably want to handpick them.

Has anyone else on this thread mentioned the rumour I heard?

Roos will coach the Dees, but ONLY if he has Tadgh(?spelling) Kennelly and Cameron Ling as assistants.

i am pretty sure this is all about Roos' family. If they say no, it's no.

So whats it to be Tammi ? Lol

Has anyone else on this thread mentioned the rumour I heard?

Lets say the money is right, the family says yes, Kennelly is OK but Ling says no. Roos then says no. I don't think so.

swans gws game at half time, lynchy asked roos the question got the same response. how ever it was not roosys response that got my attention but more the cheeky little grin on lynchys face while roos answered. Anyone else notice this and take anything from it?

I have a feeling there will be more than 1 new assistant. I am pretty sure all assistants would be out of contract.

Only Royal is out of contract. The rest have until the end of next year as far as I am aware.

Micky O is the one I've heard talk about as an assistant.

... I'm keen

I will be confident when he has signed the contract and a media conference is called.

Then and only then I will believe he will coach us.

Has anyone else on this thread mentioned the rumour I heard?

Whose the source JJC?

Reliable or not?

"Reliable" rumour?

FFS

That would be reliable source M not rumour FFS.

Tadhg, my brother is married to an Australian without any Irish background, she tells everyone who asks about the spelling sounds like TA-DIG, it's actually Irish for Tim

That would be reliable source M not rumour FFS.

You mean the source that told him what he calls a "rumour"?

I think they are all OOC.

still nothing to see here and its going to take a while longer, ie. after round 22

I think they are all OOC.

Even if they are not, paying out an assistant coach's contract is small potatoes compared to the head coach.

Same again for a development coach.

Same again for a development coach.

It doesn't matter either way as the AFL will be footing the bill.

I think they are all OOC.

Why did we not sign up all the assistants on three year contracts like the head coach? That seems a little strange.

Is that Alastair ..Tom Scully a one club player...Lynch.

Take nothing from Lynch, he has little to nothing between the ears.

Working out well.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
