Isn't it a massive difference in the approach Roos has taken compared to Neeld. Connecting emotionally with the players at the earliest possible time is so crucial. Roos has stated they're great young boys and really wants them to stay at the club and succeed. Neeld on the other hand comes out with "lift your game or otherwise you'll see what VFL footy looks like." Neeld had tickets on himself from word go whereas Roos has only provided positives so far in relation to the players and team in general.

I hope Neeld is watching and learning a thing or two from all this, as tough as a lesson it is.

Yep. It also helps when you've got runs on the board like Roos does. When he speaks he commands respect. You could feel it at the presser.

Very impressed with Paul Roos and very impressed with Peter Jackson, they know what's wrong with the club and have a plan to rectify it.

No surprise they both come from outside the MFC from professionally run clubs and both know what it takes to succeed in the AFL. Checker kickstarted the Demon culture imported from Richmond and even Norm Smith was from the other (I prefer to say better) side of the river.

Get home from work and re- read this just to make sure it actually happened!

Thrilled to have Roosy on board, everything seems like it's on the up and up now!

PJ has been a godsend for this club, next job is to make sure we lock up col and wattsy!

A notion that struck me about the presser was how seemingly comfortable he was. There was a little bit of here we are and here we GO about it from mine.

Whilst conceding the job ahead there was nothing but exuberance at the task begore the club.

Was very impressed and i was trying to remain circumspect about it

There will be no miracles but wre might at last see a real team take to the field in our glorious jumper.

I still don't believe it - surely something will go wrong? Doesn't it always?

Sorry - I cant wait to see the line up of players and assistants that want to work under the great man.

Its really strange to see him in a melbourne polo. To quote huddo I see it but I dont believe it.

I never thought our club could land a big fish like roos as our coach.

But just hearing him on mmm he is just a total professional

Obviously melbourne got some memberships today because they tweeted out Huge thanks to everyone who has joined or renewed today. Membership website will be live on Monday, until then you can call 1300 336 667.

I dont renew until r1 but even I think i will renew earlier. Hopefully the afl person who is in charge of the fixture puts us at the G round 1 as a home game.

From when can you join up for 2014?

It would be fantastic to see an immediate surge in membership off the back of this great bit of news....

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
