Didnt you complain about the Harry O thread this morning, if you want to talk about shopping malls start a new topic and put in general discussion.

im discussing things that might well sway someones bias. That person being a very big part of team Roos who is #1 cab for our , that being Melbourne , coaching job.

Last time i looked the mental health of a collingwood player would have 2/3 of 3/5 of f all to do with us.

Just my thinking of course. :)

really? How do you know that? How does that make sense when we are broke as a joke

It was in the media recently. Under Schwab we increased FD spending. It is only because of our on field performance this year we are in a hole again, things were tracking well financially until this season.

Until we got fined for not tanking and bringing the game into disrepute. Was that on field?

When bb?

My understanding is they connected when he was playing for Sydney then got married in Texas and moved to Sydney full time.

Am I wrong?

Incorrect. He was a Lions player when they met.

Married his wife Tami in 1992. Moved to Sydney in 1995 where he playerd 87 games with the Swans after 269 with the Lions.

I think his oldest boy was born in Melbourne.

I wonder if this sub committee will target people for assistant coaching roles.

I'm hearing Roos wants a succession plan ala Longmire. If true that would mean at least one new assistant comes in next year. Of course, Roos would probably want to handpick them.

So if he wants a succession plan the contract may be shorter than some have suggested, might be looking at 2-3 years of Roos and then a Ling or Kirk?

Spot on, DF. Apparently it's 2 to 3 years.

So the Roo's deal is done then?

any idea of some of the potential coaches for this plan?

It's apparently not. Negotiation stage.

As some have mentioned, Micky O being sought for as an assistant seems to suggest he's one of them.

Does sound too good if is already planning a quick exit....

Don't want him if his heart isnt in it to get a premiership cup... but where do you find a hungry coach who has been to the top and cant wait to get back there?

Plenty of time to work out a deal,

i just hope that Neil Craig remains at the club regardless of the outcome, his experience and interpersonal skills are a huge asset

I was disappointed when I heard. Three years isn't long enough to win a flag. I'd prefer a five year deal with a succession plan. That at least gives you a bit of time.

It's not, but we really don't know what's going to happen, who's to say watts and trengove don't show us how good we thought they would be, Jones, grimes, garland, frawley, clark all have years thats put them around the AA mark and we shoot up the ladder like Port Adelaide did, as much as we need to add to our Midfield, Trengove rediscovering some pace and Toumpas and Viney getting more games into them will go a long way to us improving as a side.

Well if we were playing well I'm pretty sure the club could have absorbed the 500k hit. We've had moderate profits over the last couple of seasons.

Hearing the amount of 1.4 mill but its not from anyone reputable. Word was he is interested.

I reckon it would be pretty hard not to be interested in a wage like that haha, really hope this deal gets signed ASAP

this could be a new dawn for MFC

Robbo and Geraldo were discussing Roos on AFL 360 and Robbo said 4 wks ago he would have said he is not going to coach the dees.

He said he had contacted Roos this wk and ask him amongst other things "will he rule himself out of coaching the dees" and Roos spoke for about 50 seconds in a round a bout way but didn't answer the question.

Sounds positive but until a contract is signed and a media conference is called its all speculation.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
