Beamer shows a bit of class....

Recommended Posts

Oh dear...

Just to amuse me "Tonatopia", if a soldier went to war with the sole purpose of disobeying his general's orders, do you think his fellow soldiers would survive?

its called AWOL mate.

And that's what many of our players were going to do if Neeld remained coach. The players arnt stupid, neither was Moloney.

being critical of players is like being critical of Soldiers that are fighting for your country. They are risking their bodies for you, so you must be contructive in the criticism.

Ok, if you're not Brent himself, then you must be Jeff Kennett?

So you encourage players to go against the instructions of the coach?

The game plan the players played to was not successful. We have no idea if the game plan that Neeld, or Bailey for that matter, worked because the players didn't implement it how they were instructed.

Given that we continually got flogged playing Beamer's game plan probably just confirms that your agrument is moot. He is a dumb ass, has no idea about structures on field, lacked leadership, couldn't motivate the players around him. All this time I thought it was Neeld and Brian Royal that were incompetent.

I couldn't give a toss if a player won a Brownlow, was blood related, or was just a top bloke, if he thinks he is better than the team, he can [censored] off. Funny how the man in question said similar about Brock McLean.

Thanks Queen, but the club needs culture change, and frankly, we would be a stronger club if we had a re-build of our culture by challenging all fickle and weak supporters that have the audacity to bag out club champions. There are probably 5000 of you. Either change your ways or [censored].

I cringe every time some of you people bag out Davey, Moloney, Watts, Jurrah, Green, whoever. It is really poor form. If you guys had ever played the game, you would realize that it is bloody hard, firstly to get fit enough to play, and secondly, to back up good games week after week for 10 years.

So Queeny, I stand by my words, supporters that bag out our club champions are nothing but vermin. We don't need you.

We stand for something different.

MFC supporters have a bit more class than that.

If you want to be scoundrels, go support the filth.

FYI, I don't bag out the players.

FYI, I'm 40 years old and still play competitive footy.

FYI, you're making yourself look like a fool.

Keep it up.

Seriously though.. Be quiet tona.

Comparing people who actually sacrifice their life for our country to people who play sport for excessively good money is far far worse than someone criticising a player. Get over it, it happens at every club because everyone in the world is passionate about sport.

We get you want MFC to be back up there... We all do!!! But your current campaign makes you sound absolutely stupid.

Great can you play in the mid field?

The MFC may need you if you can.

Beamer wouldn't play the way MN wanted him to. End of story. According to the HS was told to change the midfield set ups because Jamar to BM was too predictable. BM actively went against that with other players. MN had no choice but to cousel him and if he continued to refuse get rid of him

BM refused to drop weight and run both ways - zero defesive skills

BM should never have played in the 186 game. Again selfish and not a team player.

I applaud MN for making the hard call on him but perhaps the manner of it was the issue.

The decision for him to go was the right one.

Lets move on.

Certainly not the gentlemanly type we need at MFC....gosh darn it we need real fellows who when they feel they have treated in less than stellar fashion just button up the old bottom lip by crikey. If we allow this sort of caddish behaviour into the club then the next thing you know we'll be seeing is spiteful competitive behaviour on the field... IT JUST WON'T DO

I've never understood this argument about Moloney - all players want to play, it's up to the medicos to declare them unfit and rule them out.

It obviously wasn't a great post on instagram the other day and it certainly wasn't a good look for Moloney, but I do find it funny how people want to rewrite history about a bloke once he's left the club.

It reminds me a lot of the comments Woewodin made when he was sent to Collingwood and the response to them by our supporters - the bloke was obviously hurt by being forced out and didn't want to go. You can certainly make the case that both of them would have been better served by saying nothing at all but when there's high level emotions involved it's easier said than done.

Do you listen to the coaches

Can you take instructions and carry them out

Do you do your best every time you take the field

Don't think your doing your argument any favours with silly comments like this.

Expand on this please Stuie.

My point was that Beamer played his own game plan, thinking that he knew what was best, rather than following the coach's instructions. It wasn't and it cost him his place on our list. Yet Tonatopia is saying that he isn't the silly one.

Just a really silly comment mate. You're saying the team was being flogged because they were all playing the way Moloney wanted to play. You can blame Moloney's performances on his own attitude etc, but you can't blame the team getting smashed every week on the game plan of a player.

Moloney is not a champion of the club. Never was.

Bluey Adams or Robbie Flower deserve that status.

Brent Moloney is unwelcome back at the club imo

He needed to move on, but this is just being an emotional little jilted girl.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
