Didn't read the article - but I'd imagine we would take anyone at the moment.

Smashed N Jones on the weekened and a player who can win his own ball is a novelty on our list

First part of my plan coming together as planned

Get him in the red and blue.

The Prestia family is diehard Demons since the 60s.

No excuses.

Didnt realise he had such strong family links to the Dees.

Just the player we need.

We may also have to sacrifice a couple of good talls to trade for quality mids.

Maybe Jamar, Frawley?

I know it hurts to trade Frawley but we are desperate for good mids and have to give up something good to get something good.

I have considered the prospect of trading Frawley but he's a diamond in the rough, albeit a struggling one atm.

Cannot trade Frawley.

Of our decent tall payers, who would you trade for a good mid from another club?

If James said he wanted to leave - I agree DeeZee think we would get something decent for him

I really rate James - but if he wants out why fight it?

I'm a jack watts fan, always have been (like all players who wear the red and blue) he is a great person and a very genuine guy. Unfortunately, I reckon he is probably the most likely player we have to swap. Forget jamar, GC have plenty of tall depth. Frawley could be a viable trade also, but I think the club would be negligent to lose a player of his calibre. I remember an article leading into the 2010 draft about Dion saying it would be a dream to play for the dees, unfortunately GC took him at 9, and we all know where our pick went!

Is he good enough to swap an early pick for??

At this stage it'll be pick 2 or 3....

No, key defenders are worth their weight in gold. I know we need mids but you don't trade a top level key position player and his is still a top level defender no matter how many try to slag him off on here.

Whats the use of having good backs and forwards if we keep getting smashed in the middle every week.

If we were to trade Frawley, we'd set our backline back 5 years. You can't trade a gun with no foreseeable replacements.

We should do as much as we can to lure Prestia though, barring stupid things like the above.

Jamar to GC

Prestia to MFC

Though GC have good ruck stocks. Maybe a 3 way deal Jamar to GWS, someone GWS or GWS pick to GC, Prestia to MFC?

Edit. Still think we need a gun like Daisy Thomas, but read today he appears to have re-injured his ankle.

I don't think GC would see Prestia and Jamar on par in value.

Nope. thats not the way to do it. if a deal can't be reached there are other options.

Must keep Frawley and Watts. Still believe Watts will play a role.

Prestia ans Shiels for pick 1/2 and Sylvia (probably not enough but if neither want to sign their hand might be forced

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
