Who really cares who is favourite........?????

As a non gambler, Is it better to be the underdog????? ie, not have the expectation

The odds are about right I think.

GCS have way better form than us and with our injuries at present they will have a lot better team on the field on Sunday.

I expect them to win by about 6 goals.

As for GWS, 2014 they will pass us.

The only up side I see for the Dees is 2nd draft pick this year and first in 2014.

Aren't odds partly calculated by punter spending habits?

It's no surprise that people are putting their cash essentially equally on GC and Melbourne, a little more so on GC.

This is not shocking news. Odds aren't really indicative of "where a team is at"...it just represents what punters think of the team.

Were gold coast favourites last year? i remember they were fancied by alot of people, and the score at quarter time was like 46-2 our way or something, these expansion teams just don't seem to play well at the G yet

I think I can confidently say Bossdog that there would be not one Dees supporter who has any expectation for the Dees.

The only thought most of us have these days is "how big will the loss be"

Nah, he and benell were the two best players on the ground, bout 6 million touches between them and 3 goals to ablett and 4 to benell or something, either way they were the only two decent players they had.

GCS were actually favourites before the last round was played.

Evidently the betting public are unimpressed by the conservative Selection Table choices (no need to name any names here).

The day is young, expect them to further shorten.

Come to think of it Brian hasn't played for quite a while but let's face it, his loss amounts to a significant reduction in games played. :lol:

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
