Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Cameron Schwab Resigns

I'm happy cam is gone. None of us know the full story but some on here have bound cam and don together because of cams three year deal. Surely you can't do that now. If on face value don told cam to resign then don is attempting to do the right thing by the club and unite members and unite the footy department and the board. I hope we can resemble a team on the g this weekend.

I get the feeling Vlad has said any help given is conditional on this bloke leaving. Just a hunch.

Tied at the hip Bing. Lock-step.

They're wearing the same pair of concrete boots and one of them just walked the plank.

No use denying it.

No RR, dodgy metaphors do not make truths.

It's really time you took a break from 'Land I think, you're becoming a caricature of yourself.

We need to get Don out.

360 is spot on, Don drowned in that press conference, Schwab handled himself like a professional, Don less than an amateur.

Here we go. Dons the problem now, not Cameron anymore. Ok new problem and the solution is?

Of course we can.

You can't endorse someone so feverishly, sign them up to a whopping three-year deal, then weeks later make an about face and give him the boot.

That's politics I'm afraid. Credibility shot.

I hope for the sake of Mark Neeld that Don doesn't change his stance on the coach as quickly as you did!

So on that logic we should re-hire Schwab and sack McLardy, based on this 1 press conference...

You've been getting logic lessons from Range Rover.

I don't think the club sacked CS because they were looking for a scapegoat. If he really was doing a great job and was well liked, then it would have been much easier to sack a Neil Craig for example.

You don't sack a good CEO in response to bad on field performance. It makes no sense... Unless said CEO is consistently involving himself in footy matters and putting noises out of joints.

I'm not usually one to believe baseless rumours, but where there is so much smoke, there is a fire burning somewhere.

Who knows what impact this will have in both the short and long term, and only time will tell.

I certainly don't expect a finals campaign now.

Yes it does & this is why Mclardy was so uncomfortable...

... & thats why, the way I read it, that Cam is still working while we fill the role, seeing that things continue running well in the office.

In other words the membership numbers are down, & the phone around for members is on...

I see it that the feedback from disappointed members who have not rejoined, is that they're angry about everything, since the 186 match...

Why would the board want a person, 'they supposedly wanted out',,, to continue working to help them run the office?

Welcome aboard.

I'd be taking out a membership, we need it more than ever. As for your reasons .. don't agree at all. We won that one, hands down. Only $500K for Hogan, Dawes and Barry ... where do we sign! No point bringing up the "we were found not guilty", that's where we won, because we were guilty as all hell (Bailey admitted as much in what he said to them.) The AFL DID back down (bigger fine, draft picks and penalty points lost, unfavorable scheduling, loss of CEO and/or Board members, and the ensuing loss of gaming license ... it just goes on and on ...) - and we agreed to a comparative slap on the wrist so that everyone saved face.

there you go....

& more to pay us IMO in the future, the AFL is...

I have no problem with the idea of a new President, not though because I have a particular problem with Don. I think we should all consider we owe him and his like a big thankyou for taking the reigns at a time when Im sure that was last on his mind.

But he was/is a reluctant President , he's there by default. In order for the club to grow ( up ) and move forward we need people who are inspired and inspirational in positions of importance.

A lot of things have happened at the club in a reactionary and almost panicked fashion. We need more purpose and calm intent.

Go Dees

Sad to hear about CS. Met him a few times and a really nice guy.

At the end of the day he had to go. Not my particular view but if thats what the majority wanted, and what is needed then so be it.

Best of luck CS.

Spot on mate!. I just find it all to coincidental that Don said "yes i have had regular contact with the AFL" and then CS has been sacked/resigned. We're here now ladies and gentlemen, lets just hope this is ROCK BOTTOM for the MFC and we're on our way up. Im sick and tired of answering the phone and having mates go "so hows the MFC going at the moment". Carn the Dee's, the players, members and supporters have got what they want, lets make a stand!

god i would laugh if we thrashed West Coast on Saturday! haha

All that for $2 million plus in CEO wages?

Hmmm ... seems worth it.

Oh, & you think Cam will get payed for the next 2 1/2 Yrs salary after resigning, do you????

Your beginning to sound a lot like Mitchell on 3AW.. & he has an Echo up where its normally grey matter.

.... are you one of the few still breathing who listen to 3AW?

The AFL decides from here on what happens at Melbourne. It's fingerprints are all over this.

If so we are now in a very dangerous place.

He was paid well for tenure, plus he would've recived some sort nego'd settlement today. $2 mil sounds about right.

You''re dee-luded!

Stop making shit up. You have no idea how much the settlement would be if anything, so stop talking as if you do.

I'm guesstimating. So what?

So what? You're using a completely fictional number to make an obtuse point. If the payout was $7.00 instead of your suggested $2,000,000 then your point is dead in the water, and for all we know that's what it was. Again, I reiterate my point: stop making shit up.

The point is only obtuse because you choose to make it so. I think it's rather blunt.

Be fair Nasher, if RR was to stop talking about things he doesn't know about I'm sure we'd end up missing him.... maybe

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
