Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Schwab needs to fu#k off now, take Royal with him, was happy to give Neeld a bit of time, but I think he has proven now that he can coach good players at collingwood, btu can't develop players for [censored].

Absolute rubbish statement

On what evidence you have seen is that an absolute rubbish statement? Myself personally, I have seen no evidence to the contrary this year. May only be R2, but this is next level sh!t we are dealing with. We will get demolished by the eagles next week, and probably even worked over by GWS.

Schwab is a loser and it makes me sick that he is our CEO

He is the root of our problems. THe giy is a cancer.

I actually feel bad for Neeld, cos not even Jesus himself fix this club.

We are financially stable, have a strong membership base. Merely playing poorly is not a reason for the AFL to step in and administer the club.

Far cry from your foot note: "But above all the din rose the cry 'no surrender'"

Financial stability is not what this game is about. Strong membership base has quite likely had its foundations blown out. And to bring my footnote in is insulting really, as that is about the great man himself, who would be turning in his grave, god rest his soul, over what is happening to his beloved MFC. If these blokes can run a club well, I have seen no evidence of such recently

The AFL will definitely have some conversations with the MFC this week. This was a free-to-air, 50,000+ attendance, Saturday night game, and played like we are not VFL standard.

But the club is not the problem. We have new training facilities, no debt, new sponsors etc... This is a player / coach thing. Something is seriously wrong in the dressing room.

You're right, its not important to be financially stable, its not important to have a strong membership base winning is the key here... If the AFL had to step into administer every team that can win a game there will be a big line.

Think of what you're saying here - the issue is clearly winning, the AFL do not need to step into administer a club if the club is struggling to win. What could they do about it? Introduce a handy cap?

If we are financially stable, if we have a strong support base and if we are a victorian team the AFL dont want anything to do with us

You are dead right there. I personally don't agree with RR that they will step in. They don't give a F, and will let us die given half a chance. Unfortunately, the players and FD are giving them more than half a chance!

They will step in on Monday morning my friend.

RR on what basis? We aren't in danger of not putting a team in the field financially. We just aren't competitive. I'm not sure what they could do? Spend the week teaching players to kick?

whats the story with that pre-game address? Whose idea was it? It was almost like it was shown exclusively so that everyone can witness for themselves that Neeld has no idea... even the fact he knew he was on camera didn't fire him up. Call me a conspiracy nut, but somebody arranged for that to happen in order to sign Neeld's marching orders

Really set him and the players up for failure, who ever thought this was a good idea had no idea.

Needed to go about their business without all this garbage.

Yes it is we need an administrator and we need their help to secure a real coach, Roos would be a start.

If we don't then we are headed for oblivion.

Agree Robbie and I've been calling for this to happen since last year.

My U17 coach could pump out a better speech than that, the guys a joke, DELIST.

My missus who doesn't follow the footy at all watched that pre game address and laughed. She asked me if that guy's real?

I've run out stilnox so I'll just replay that rubbish twenty minutes before bedtime.

Can't believe someone quoted Bill Clinton in a thread of "unity".

Here's a quote for you from a slightly more celebrated American President. You know, the one who freed the slaves.

"You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time" - Abe Lincoln

Boycott.

Strike.

Vote with your feet.

Do not hand this club over any more of your $$$

or a minute more of your precious time until sweeping changes are made.

It starts with you RR.

In the words of another great American (and often accused kiddy fiddler):

'I'm looking at the man in the mirror'

I implore you to become a Collingwood supporter and begin frequenting their forums. It's the least you could do.

One more piece of news from me.

I was told bysomeone who works at the club, that the club was shocked over how many payers asked to e traded last year.

Some left, but there are still a handful who asked to leave , but are still playing in the team

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
