What's the go on him, no real news?

will he be fit to play? or will we have to wait to see our skipper?

His performance in the VFL did not warrant a call up.

A couple more weeks in the VFL in my opinion.

To be honest i had forgotten we actually had him.
Been preoccupied worrying about everything else.
Has showed signs he could be something great in his first few seasons, but last season was average.
Could use him the engine room in what will hopefully be his "coming of age" year.

He is not injured, we are under attack, he is our captain, he should play or the captaincy title is just bs.

Please can we have just one captain, that would be Grimes, though Mitch Clark would be nice.

He's not ready, but we seemingly have no choice...

Agree with you on this one 'stuie'.

His performance in the VFL did not warrant a call up.

Says you... Who has NFI what role he was asked to play, and what KPIs he was being judged on to assess his readiness to return to AFL level.

It never ceases to amaze me the ignorance & naivety some posters display...

I ceased being amazed on that score some time back ...

Barely touched the ball at VFL level. Doesn't take a genius to see he isn't performing to an AFL standard yet.

Over examine it anyway you want, whatever helps you sleep.

End of the day he barely impacted the game last week for Casey.

And Sellar,Pederson,Gillies,Garland,Dunn are AFL standard???

Sadly being AFL standard is not a prerequisite to play for the Demons.

The last thing this team needs is another plodder who cant chase his opponent. The captaincy title should not come into it.

I'd rather a plodder who can't chase than a slacker who won't chase.

Me too, but either way he wont improve our team i reckon.

Neeld confirms in todays HUN that he will play as will T-mac and Terlich. I believe Trengove will make alot of people eat their words once he gets the right balance in his game between attack and defence. He may not be quick but I watched Watson, Swallow, Kennedy and Gibbs all give best on performances last week. None of whom are quick but have great endurance, work ethic and the knack to find the pill.

Not sure there is a lot of difference there Chook

Trengove would be wasted at Casey. I'd swap him for his buddy Tapscott and play him on a HFF

Plodder?! No other team in the entire competition would think that of Jack Trengove.

Not sure 2012 would suggest he was more than a plodder RB.

However he has bugger all Pre season, a serious foot injury and Poor form ( not really surprising ) last week with Casey.

I would wonder why he would be played this weekend.

If as many suggest we are only 1 week into a 22 game season.

Why play him before he has shown has some touch and the fitness to go the distance in an AFL game.

In is not as though he is coming off a wonderful 2012

Now that is a good idea DemonWA, it is hard to see him being worse than Tapscott

I think that is his spot.

IMO that is where he has played the vast majority of his good games.

we are trying to make him a mid simply because we have only 1 mid at present.

Thing is he is slowr then slow.. i watched brock mclean out sprint him last year was cringing to see..

Problem is, Trenners is so 'not quick' he wouldn't catch any of those blokes and he doesn't find the pill as much as them.

He doesn't deserve a game, which is why he'll get one, it's the MFC way.

I hope I eat my words, I love the kid and want him to succeed, I just can't see him being more than average midfielder, rather than the gun midfielder we hoped to draft.

Either way, he'll make sweet FA difference to this weeks outcome.

You are aware he was carrying weight and injury last year. Did you actually see him play in 2011?

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
