Time to go Mark Neeld

Grand New Flag

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this friggin list Neeld and co have put together.

Did anyone watch Pederson today? Actually did anyone know that he was out there? Well he was. Played like a bloody donkey like has most of his career. Great drafting skills ...

Moloney B&F 2011, Neeld didn't play him 2012, so he leaves for the lions 2013, don't blame him.

I'm sick of this rubbish. The positive to this loss today is that it puts more pressure on Neeld, hopefully the club will react this week and finally get rid of him.

Such a great decision to get rid of Beamer wasn't it? Bloody Neeld is clueless. Moloney has friggin destroyed us today. Clearly the difference between the two sides out there.

Like those who have criticised Moloney said he plays well against poor sides and plays poorly against the competent sides. We are a poor side hence he played well today, no surprise.

Really? What issue exactly did you have with the coaching today? I thought he should have started Watts forward but he did eventually make that move other than that there wasn't a lot more he could have done. The loss today was on the players heads today if they played the percentages more and made less stupid errors we would have won today.

Neeld left Beamer out of the leadership group, and changed his onfield role.

Beamer was [censored] so he left.

Now he is playing great footy.

Whos fault?

Neeld.

Brisbane at least looked like they had a system to follow - they had some idea of where their team mates would or should be - MFC didn't. Wake up Dr - it's the coaching, not the players.

Didn't he get dropped from the leadership group after he got blind drunk and [censored] on the bar? Anyway there's already a thread discussing Moloney, what I'd like to know is how people think Neeld coached today? I didn't think he was too bad and if our skills and decision-making abilities weren't so poor we could have won.

Nah I disagree there - there was improvement today in the structures and systems we had. Still issues in the centre square and our skills and decision-making let us down but I thought there was improvement today. Today I thought was a better effort in this regard than last week (minus the last quarter last week). If our players play the percentages more often and take their first option instead of trying to set-up the "perfect" play we would have at least broken even with Brisbane and likely would have won.

Dr, with all due respect, there is a time when you just have to see the problem, no matter how unpalatable and no matter how risky the alternatives - now is that time!

Moloney has made a career out of smashing rubbish sides. Awful flat track bully. Rarely plays well against strong sides.

Bailey set up blocks which enabled Moloney to win centre clearances in tanden with Jamar, but which were easily countered by better organised on-ball oppositions. Neeld demanded Moloney win his own footy, and Moloney showed he was not up to the task.

Letting Beamer go was a mistake but ANY good clearance player will dominate against us. We are pathetic in the middle and make average players look good when they rack up clearance after clearance.

Heaven forbid a player that combines with a ruckman and wins centre clearances and is not up to the task.

Well I stuffed to see how given our 4th world our midfield we could have jettisoned a hard bodied midfielder who would have given some protection to Toumpas, M Jones etc.

And at least Bailey could work some magic in the midfield. Regardless of how top teams killed us. Now Bailey was no giant killer but Neeld is making Bailey look better each week.

How the hell could we have got rid of a "good clearance player"? We cant buy a clearance at all.

Against the 3rd worst team in the AFL we were made to look VFL like today in the midfield.

Its amazing how some try to rationalise a terrible error.

There's more to a decision rather than clearances.

Let's have Moloney around, sulking, breaking relationships, playing at Casey.

poor midfield, with a decent midfield and dawes and clark we would be much better, commentators noted that our mids simply weren't running hard enough.

There does not seem to be that much at all considered with Moloney.

Aside from Jones he would walk into our midfield. He is another player who was ostracised and jettisoned in a poor manner.

He made a few people in the coaches box look repeatedly stupid....if that was not happening already

Yes, but he didn't want to be here.

The relationship/s broke down completely.

It's time to move on with BM.

Very emotional posting.

Anyway, Moloney didn't display the characteristics that a leader should, so he was removed from the leadership group. The correctness of this decision was shown by how he reacted to his removal last year. He hawked himself around in the media and showed a 'Team 2nd' attitude.

Moloney, despite his words, played for Moloney first. When you are trying to change a culture, someone like Moloney is poison and the team needs to have faith that those people will face consequences for their poor attitude while good attitudes will be rewarded (like Grimes and Tenners).

Changing culture isn't about winning a few clearances. It's about driving attitude and values. Taking the easy way out (accepting Moloney's poor attitude) is exactly what kills culture change.

Of course it's time to move on Jumbo - BM won't be coming back!

The real issue rests with who let him go, along with a few other players!

Do you seriously believe our current culture is an improvement on the past? Do you seriously believe the Neeld culture is the way ahead? Time to think Bob!

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
