On the one hand, I think it's a bit mean for them to single out Pedersen, Frawley and Nicholson for each of their pathetic attempts, when I'm sure all bar about 2 players did something similar.

However. Frawley's 'chase' symbolises all that is wrong with our 'leaders'. I can only presume he thought the ball was going to go out of bounds, but even then, for him to see it didn't, and not put his head down and sprint, but just continue to amble, is absolutely, utterly, totally disgraceful. I'd drop him to Casey for that and that alone. It's far worse than Nicholson going the double fist (don't get me wrong, that effort was also terrible). If he doesn't want to try, he shouldn't play.

Pedersen's squib was just sad, really. But you'd hope that he watches that back, and vows internally to never do it again. Might change him.

I agree - Frawley showed little leadership in that chase.

i would love to hear a response from Frawley... but oh no of course not, no matter how much you disgrace the jumper and anger the supporters you are not to be made publicly accountable for your efforts, after all, you are a highly paid superstar athlete and as such are above such things

I agree totally - the other two were errors of judgement, but Chip's was just plain lazy, lazy, lazy, and set an awful example for the younger players: his "getting away with that" (if that what happens) says so much about what is the nature of our beloved club's malaise.

There were maybe 18 lazy players on the field on Sunday and laziness, especially in round one after the shyte season and off season we have had just must not be tolerated.

The dogs and port have put up sides with players who want to play and they did ok. We need to do the same, get rid of those who dont want to try, send them back to Casey to try to get a game. Silvia and Frawley could see their value plummet quite badly if they cannot even get a game with melbourne.

I dont know but ...Neeld keeps saying, we trained ONE particular way for 5 months....well maybe that one particular way has been observed, disected and worked out?? Should we train 5 particular ways maybe. Surely football is more complcated than that? He doesnt seem to have a plan B, in fact even said to the press gallery, unless you guys know a better way??

Didn't he also say that the way we trained was not the way we played. Having five game plans is all well and good, but if the players can't even execute plan A successfully then Plans B through E would surely be equally unworkable too right?

Anybody have footage of Pedersons famous 'duck'

It wasnt just the one 'duck', I counted at least three other occasions when pederson handballed and then should have looked to shepherd. Instead he just watched the receiving player get put under pressure. Thats basic auskick stuff. Unforgivable.

just watched it. this is horrific.

frawley, nicholson, sellar, pedersen...pathetic.

fumbles you can excuse to a certain degree, but the effort of those four was nothing short of disgraceful.

our skills are atrocious. our confidence is shot.

we can definitely be the bottom side in the competition this year. we are that bad.

Yes he did and I agree, guess my point was training is one thing, all the players know what to do and whats going to happen in drills, it looks great and works because they all know each other. Match conditions are quite different. Can they really forget that in 5months?? Can a coach really expect, just because they train really well that that will automatically translate onto the field?

Watching the replay, I didn't think Nicho's effort was as horrible as I first thought.

Sure, his skills are rubbish, but at least he showed some effort, IMO.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
