AFL investigation

Quote where I've said, or even insinuated that ? I even said that I want the club to "fight likes there's no tomorrow".

But I don't bleat and scream like a little girl that we're being victimised. I appreciate that you wouldn't know the difference.

bleating & screaming?

No shallow one i am looking at this issue objectively.

The larger picture of what todays AFL really wants.

You may want the club to fight like there is no tomorrow, but ultimately you will roll over when the price is to your liking.

I would not count on you in the trenches when the heat ramps up.

Your knack of being rude at the end of each post is quite humorous.

Get of ya soap box Ben. Your poo smells just the same as mine.

Again with the Straw BH !! Your assertion counter must by definition ally the orator with this idea, i.e of being a victim. It's a nonsense and you know very well it's so.

Its not being a victim to stand back and analyse a situation and call foul. Sometimes there are fouls and its not the fault of the recipient and neither is it un-realistic for said recipient to cry foul. It is what it is. This is an attack on what some see as an easy target. many a general hve come unstuck underestimating their adversary or unwittingly realising that the target will see no recourse other than a fight. After the tables are turrned it can be too late.

i sense AD is wary of this and seeks a non-result thus mitigating any fall out to whomever, especialy himself.

We arent vicitms per se...we're targets

Read the piece from the Sun this morning. Very boring article and just repeated the same crap thats been said before. Probably wont find out anything until we answer the so called evidence that has been brought against us.

Because I understand why we're being investigated ? Because I understand why other clubs presently aren't ? You wrap those two bits of information together and come up with the above theory ? Or maybe it's because I believe that sanctions against individuals are preferable to sanctions directly against the club. Whatever the AFL decide, I want the club to exhaust all avenues of defence, because I believe that they can't categorically prove we manipulated results as long as Bailey denies any wrongdoing.

Now that I've cleared that up - seriously mate, you're the thickest poster I've ever encountered. You are so dumb I don't know how you walk and breathe at the same time. And no, I'm not being rude.

Yes....I'm afraid you are.....Because other people don't get what you are attempting to say does not mean you can berate them and call them dumb........It just demeans yourself......

why you little, you are not actually arguing against what Ben-Hur is saying. He is simply pointing out why things are happening, not what he thinks should be happening.

I can't believe I keep looking at this thread. Surely we need to introduce a maximum post per day limit?

I don't think BH's and other posters, including myself, are all that far apart on all this. One man's "playing the victim" is another man's "fighting back".

But it would reduce the temperature and the number of posts if BH didn't insult others in a lot of his posts. If he defends his last para in #854 as some sort of ironic joke, he needs to think again. If he means it, he has been reading too many articles by Bolt.

You really want this club to go down don't you Ben. Deep down in the Bowels of your soul you have your fingers crossed.

At least you are honest....i think.

I've questioned your intellect for sometime now and being a person of generous disposition I've given you the benefit of the doubt. But this takes the cake and places you in the very bottom of the normal distribution.

Ben is a bloke who goes to every training session, he posts positive stuff all the time, he defends those in the club against criticism that he supports, he goes to every game and he shows a knowledge of the game you'll never have. And just because he holds a view that doesn't fit with the victim mentality that so many on this board have you say he wants the club to go down.

I say I don't think Schwab is as good as we can do and that I like Caro because she provides information and I'm treated the same way without anyone knowing what I do or have done for the club. Any opinion on here that doesn't go with the victim mentality, the free handout and the unfairly treated groupthink and suddenly you're an agenda driven poster.

I want this club to act in a way on and off the field that demands the respect of the football world. The sad fact of the matter is we have been riddled with drama's and disasters, some of our making and some we couldn't control, which means we are the joke of the footy world. Reality says we are being investigated for tanking and all people here want to do is say 'but it's not fair, what about Carlton". Well, welcome to the real world. Let's just deal with where we are and move forward and work to getting some respect in this competition.

The only way to regain respect is to win, as soon as that starts happening the stigma will vanish, eg, KANGAROOS.

I just happen to think its just as relevant and important to win the off field battles as well. it goes to the whole.

Some of us believe that part of 'dealing with it and moving forward' is to use the fact that it is we are not being treated fairly to our advantage. That is not 'playing the victim'. Standing up to this is important in winning respect. Winning games would also help!

Exactly,

Libba was advised to STFU if he knew what was was good for 'im.

I was expecting Mclean to get the same but .... No.

Dale Lewis was the swans player who was told to keep his mouth shut in regards to the player drug use.

and thats what makes it very interesting,,,, along with his contract renewal & his apparent elevation as the team spokesman re Judd captaincy no less.

he must have that go-ahead of the clubs hierarchy?

Knew you would be back soon Fan, just finished another cross examination from the AFL investigators have we..

I do not mind what you think of me Fan,,,Personally i think it is very ordinary that you are a moderator on this site, but that is for another day.

I have no problem with the MFC being investigated per se, but i think it is disgraceful others have been given the Gold Pass to caqrry on when there crimes were worse.

I am not crying nor should the MFC...I am angry. The MFC is expendable in the eyes of the AFL, others are not.

The amount of times Benny goes to training is irrelevent btw.

We wrote the original rules.

I think we as a club should be hired as the major paid consultant.

to Re write the rules so that none of this BS could ever raise it's head again.

The new rules would be all encompassing including drafting, umpiring, playing rules, GF entertainment etc..

Hang on isn't that what the AFL is commissioned for.

I just can't believe the amount of stuff ups in the last 10+ years by this wonderful overpaid commission.

No. Ben is telling me what is happening...which i already know.

I am saying it is being run as a sham that could have been stopped.

Large difference.

If you don't wish to read the post. Don't

Turn it off.

This is what irked me about the Neeld-Mifsud episode.

Neeld was exhonerated & that was the end of it.

I just felt that it was never finished. It should have been pursued to the point of a full apology to all parties.

We are seen as an easy mark & it goes a long way in explaining why we are pursued and others not.

I don't call this a victim mentality when it is so obvious that we are being singled out on this issue.

We need to fight any adverse finding & show that we are not prepared to be the whipping-boy at someones whim.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
