Is there another Reiwoldt that we don't know about? I know A Lockett (Anthony, aka Tony), but not sure who that A Reiwoldt is. If he's as good as either Jack or NIck, he'll be worth looking at.

You know what the say about sarcasm billy!

It is a dying art in the modern age.....actually I think Jesse will be a cross between Paul and Hulk....crush opponents but make them laugh while he is doing it

You are probably right subtlety is a lost ability in the world of Facebook and Tweeter

When Muggleton was doing the tackling drill, he would stop and berate if not done properly pointed out a couple ot times and named players......

It's great that he knows their names - implies that this isn't the first time he's worked with them. This is something they need to do over & over.

IIRC, after they worked with the Storm's guy their tackling improved ... for a week or two.

Thanks to the locals for these training reports. It keeps my MFC-blood-levels up durng the off-season. Love the descriptions of the intense training this year & Jesse Hogan.

I am reminded of a quote that I heard from an NFL player this week, "I don't expect results, I expect effort. The results will look after themselves". It could be the motto for MFC in 2013, me thinks.

That has to be a misquote.

Surely it must be " You should expect results after you put in the effort"?

Reiwoldt family seem prolific breeders down here in Tassie. Have watched at least 3 over the last few years at U10-U15 level - all stood out (if only for being tall and pale skinned)

I was there and took some photos, will post a bit more later, spoke to Jesse Hogan, cool kid, lookin fwd already to playing in the VFL, target weight for him to play at 104KG, so just a medium sized fwd then

Jeeezus! That's a big load for a teenage frame to take.

I don't think my little car can take a 104kg load!

What's wrong with you people??

104kg would be Hogan's EVENTUAL target weight.

He'd never aim for that as an 18 year old.

Use your brains FFS...

I'm sure all those that have seen Hogan at training have noticed the strut he's got going. When you look at him you just think this guys got something about him. Kinda like a young Johno Brown or even a young Wayne Carey. I'm not saying he's going to be that good but he's got that confidence about him.

I have been putting reports

But this is what happened as far as I can remember

Warm up

Handball drill

Tackling drill

Bit more evasive work

Gut running

End to end in restricted area

End to end on full pitch

Warm down

I have only spoken to Jesse Hogan once and walked away super impressed

Having watched and played all three, with Rugby League (Storm) the days of one person tackling are long gone.

Rebels Union, this still happens in broken play and would be more beneficial to AFL.

Muggleton was actually showing them the technique on how to tackle, shoulders over feet etc. and if a player steps left (unless they are one of the freakishly talented indigenous players) will then go right, and vice versa, and even if they spin they will spin right....common sense but you do need to be told this.

It was all good especially when he immediately stopped it if somebody went arm waving.

Settle Gretle.

The post that originally mentioned this talked of him looking fwd to playing in the VFL next year and that his target weight was 104kg, all in the same sentence. It could be taken that may have been his target whilst playing VFL next year.

No need for poster abuse.

JM always needs to calm down but if this is abuse we need to be less sensitive.

Sorry rpfc, didn't realise that telling someone they have something wrong with their brain and anachronism swearing was perfectly fine. In which case, José is brain dead and can GAGF. But I digress, back to training reports...

If somebody can tell me how to post a pic here, not a link but to post, I can post one of the tackling pics....tried pasting but my wonderful computer laughed at me.........I am a real believer in the synopsis of the Terminator films

You need to upload your photos to a site such as Photobucket (that's what I use anyway) and then you paste a link to each photo when you click on the "Image" icon (small square button below the smiley face) when you post on the thread.

Imploring someone to use their brains, to think, should not be seen as unreasonable.

It's a silly jump to make, that Hogan would be carrying 104kg as an 18 year old, and a little bit of thought would prevent the handful of illogical posts.

HTFU.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
