The rich get richer.

That's right. Hawks also signed up a new irish guy as an international rookie. Surely the richer clubs will eek out more of an advantage with better and more coaches, more international rookies, better and more recruiters... arrgh...

Thats one that got away I think, though he possibly wouldnt have wanted to come back to the bottom of the ladder again

Anyway all is not lost, MFC apparantly have managed to retain the multi experienced Brian Royal.

Not bothered. Am sure if the club thought he was worth pursuing we would have. We didnt muck around getting others

Having said that i want a better performng midfield. How much of that is purely the cattle and how much the muster.well we'll know next year.

For some reason there are supporters who think we have to collect everyone !!

Most of MFC's coaches are actually inexperienced in their roles....except for Brian Royal.

So the jury is still out on most of them I guess,

Based on Tom McDonald's (and to a lesser extent Watts when he was down back) development, Rawlings' ability seems encouraging. Hopefully Strauss, Bennell, Tapscott or whoever else the FD have earmarked as the core defensive group continue to show improvement.

From head coach down thus why I was hoping Ratts was a chance for us would have been huge get.... But onwards and upwards Dees forever.

Now he can sit on the bench and punch the air after every goal, shouting 'Go Hawks'....what a numbnut.

He had no idea how to coach.

Clearly has a fair idea how to coach.

Ratten is a absolute bonus for Hawks. They'll be happy to be rid of Cameron. All I ever hear coming out of Leon Cameron's mouth is and um, and ahhh, you know...about a hundred times and UMMMMM. Media has been building Cameron up for the past 5 years. Poor GWS...suffer in ya jocks!

He was never a chance for us.

Ratten didnt want the only head coach role going this year at Port.

The next best option was the assistant coach at Hawthorn.

Go figure.

You havent got a clue. Cameron had good results with the Hawks midfield who were close to the premier midfield in the comp. Who gives a rats clacker about how he handles 30 second sound bites as he runs off the ground.

Looks like the MFC is Backing it's coaches and changing the cattle.

Most of them are contracted and were appointed 12 months ago. If there was an issue with the coaching the investigation should start from the top.

Please do not be true. OMG how can we keep doing the same thing over again....

Yeah a bit sad about ratten, was hoping that he might have come and coached our midfield, but maybe would be a power struggle between neeld and ratts. Would want to bring in proven coaches from successful teams so even if melbourne could snare bassett as an assistant coach.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
