Malthouse adventure will end in tears

Mick no doubt has the runs on the board. But I feel he is too consumed with the circumstances of his leaving Collingwood and in proving a point, and this will always be a negative for the navy blues. The fallout on two great clubs will be great, maybe similar to what happened to our club way back when. How the mighty fall.

Ratts played for, captained and coached the team he loves. And then gets stabbed. Will this be referred to one day as Brett Ratten's Curse? I hope so!

One can only hope so....they will probably sack him in a couple of years when they fail again.

isnt it nice that the media has a new focus !!

Great coaches always go bad at their last club and Carlton always knife their coach....its a perfect fit for mine. In the meantime we can enjoy watching Eddie's blood pressure readings as Mick steals all his staff........as long as he he keeps his hands off Neeld's team

This will get interesting:

Mick obviously under his seperation deal with the woods can't coach (or accept one) until October thus the I have left it to my Manager bull.

Cloke will suddenly become an enviromental ambassador.

Eddie will do all in his power to expose the real Carltank salary cap.

Kruezer cup will be added to the tanking investigation with the hope the fallout will reveal some new information.

Eddie is quite right to ask how the hell Carlscum will afford Cloke. Everyone wants to know how they get away with dodgy "ambassadorial " roles. Previously that dog was left to sleep, but now Eddie is [censored] off.

This will be fun :)

In the meantime everyones looking over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

IMO no coach is worth 1.2 million a year.

If you do not have the cattle then JC cannot get you across the line.

I believe MM is a good coach but he only succeeded at the PIES when he had the cattle.

Good luck Carlton

And as Eddie asks where is the money coming from?

MM and Cloke leading Carlton to a flag would make Eddie's head explode.

I'm very happy the big eye of Eddie is fixed on Carlton and their payment methods. Ever since the AFL wouldn't let us do a Judd type deal with scully I've been ticked off that what is good for one isn't for another.

Well we simply will have to pull up a chair and watch this one . There are fewclubs, indeed individuals who can tilt at this windmill. There are stimes i want to shoot his bastard for his digs at us but then again as much as we loather to admit hes also done some decent work. He will not fear the AFL, if anything it is the other way around.

if Eddie gets it into his head that he wants , ne demands a reaasoning as to how Carlton manage this whilst others go begging then he will pursue it. So he should, so all should. its plain and simply a crooked set up. How this 'ambassadorial' role manages to fall outside of Judds package whilst many other similalrly styled ideas were nixed begs further explanation and /or rectification

Its time the brown-baggers came unstuck

Have i missed something in the last 24 hours??

Malthouse is the new Carlscum coach?? Or is it still just speculation?

Wifi has been down.

Likely WYL that its Malty, but a slight chance of another Big Name.

But it looks like Jack the Ripper.... but, wheres his Cloke to come from? And where is his Top Hat?

It's Just Another episode of Government pandering to Big Business again, with subtle differences, being it's the Footy Entertainment, rather than Mining or Petroleum Industries.

And people say Melbourne doesn't treat there own well....

Go Blues!

The absolute worst thing I have ever seen written on Demonland. Unless of course you meant to insert two words in the middle and forgot, the words being " to Hell ".

Why? do we need company Redleg?

I find it troubling that after a lifetime of classifying Collingwood as the team to despise most I find that Carlton has now taken that mantle. Is this, perhaps, Eddie's biggest success?

On topic, if Malthouse becomes coach of Carlton as the pundits are predicting and we probably all expect, does that make Mark Neeld's job harder in that Malthouse's reach into Collingwood might restrict Neeld's access? Or has Neeld already extracted everything he wants (such as Leigh Brown)?

Oh come on OD, it's not that bad. A few good draft picks and some good trades and we will be off and running. Add a hard pre season, a decent run with injuries and natural development of some of our younger players. I am going off to book my 2013 GF seats in anticipation.

My sarcasm detector just exploded.

Lucky I have an Optimism Regulator, which has just given me a warning shot of electricity.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
